ok connecting my psp to my own pc, (it worked fine on my old pc)
and when i turn on usb mode on psp, i get the new hardware, "usb device" found, then it keeps saying one of the usb device not recognised and has malfunctioned and to reconnect my device etc. etc. tried everything, reinstalling maing usb drivers, everything, any ideas how to fix this?:cray:

Check that there isnt any damage to the actuall USB ports because if they are low down and at the front they tend to damage (Its easy to kick/stub your toe on something connected).

Then try connecting another USB device and see it that works, if it does then theres either a break in the cable or your psp is..........

errr, sorry if its no help but, check another cable, just to make sure urs aint ****ed, secondly, it has be ur drivers for ur comp, as its plug and play isnt it, when i plug mine up, just comes up in a folder.

if none them are reasons, then i aint got a clue :l

like i said the psp works on another pc. the usb port works with other devices. the psp doesnt work on any other ports on this computer. used two different cables both work on another pc, just not on this one with my psp

Stumped me. The only other i can recommend is checking that there is nothic blocking the pins on the cable.

Try this

Before you plug it in,

Make sure the PSP is in USB connect mode.

Also make sure the Memory Stick PRO Duo has been formatted for PSP. If it's not this is how you do it:

On the main menu, scroll all the way left to the "Settings" menu. Then select "System Settings." Then scroll to "Format Memory Stick" and press X.

memory stick has been formatted and if it works on another pc then just shows thats not the problem.

and no putting it in usb mode thenc onnecting still gives same error

the **** at the repair shop put in a pc chips board, but yes it has an nvidia onboard graphics card.

well there was no option to disable 2.0 support in the bios :S

Not sure on the reliability of that information but the person who posted it somewhere esle seemed quite genuine.

well the **** at the repair shop said it ahd onboard Nvidia, but then again he did look like a star trek fan.

and urban im using Windows Xp corporate professional.
