I smoked for 15 years and have vaped for the past 5 years but i've decided it's time to quit once I run out of vape juice, which will be this week.

Do any ex smokers/vapers have any advice? I've bought tooth picks which will hopefully help.

Personally socially smoked fags every now and then in the past then vapes became a thing ended up buying a new disposable every 1-3 days same as the misses…started getting out of breath up the tower blocks on me jobs in London, decided to quit December 19th last year on the works do as me last one.

Best thing ever did, fit as a fiddle now but it takes a while…

3 months of coughing out all the phlegm, every morning, loads of times craved one like at traffic jams, ppl having a drink, after a meal but just don’t have one

The craving stopped after about 3 weeks 👍

chewing gum, keep your mouth busy, this will also subdue the desire to eat, i put on a lot of weight when i quit smoking a bout 6 years ago, i lasted 18 months and chewing gum really helped me

Why Retatrutide? It's not associated with quitting smoking and it's still in trial stages. I'm already on Mounjaro lol.

I would go down the trebore path but it's either going to pack on loads of calories or go sugar free and get diarrhea lol

Good luck bud. I haven't tried to stop but I assume you will need to look at your triggers and plan for a substitute in the early stages.
Hard sweets/mints etc

Just looked at the price of patches as I think it's not a bad idea to go down a planned 10 week course of patches, getting smaller doses. They're extremely expensive but seems like you can get them for free or at prescription cost on the NHS.

Much stronger medication than Mounjaro, all come with the same risks and its cheaper if you know where to look lol.

Some really cool case studies on it being used on people who have addictions, from smoking to heroin. It kills cravings, appetite and addictions. Worth a good read.

Honestly, not great advice, but I smoked for about 15/16 year myself and I got so smashed at a party one night that the next day I had the worst hangover known to man. I couldn't stomach food let alone a cig. Went the whole day without 1, so decided to see how long I could go without, and just never went back.

I genuinely think its more about will power than anything, and the sheer determination to want to stop. If you don't fully want to stop you never will. My genuine advice though is to do it cold turkey - replacing one habit with another doesn't kill the actual habit that's the issue. I tried many times to stop before with replacements before going cold turkey, and it never worked.
