is there a difference if u get 2 x 512 mb sticks, or 1 x 1024? is it just that one takes up 2 slots other takes up 1?

or is it better to have 1 x 1024?

or better to have 2 x 512?

dunno if it makes a difference really, just thought id ask, while where on the ram subject.

Yes there is a difference. if u get x2 512mb sticks, it takes up 2 pci ram slots... I want to get x2 1GB sticks, because I have x2 PCI ram slots left... and Urbanfox, that link u gave me is for a PC3200... I have PC2100 Abit KT600-8237 Motherboard.

Kind regards.

pci ram? thats a new one.

As far as i know, the 3200 will work in a 2100 board fine, it will slow itself down as needed. And it saves you having to spend yet more money on ram when you upgrade.

Like said before, the 3200 will downclock to 2100 np.

And you might want to make sure your board can handle 1GB sticks, or else it may only see 512 of each stick or even worse not boot at all.
