hi again -.-

well, ive upgraded dedi host to 2.8ghz duel zeon, 2gb ram... and the server is still experince lag =/

it seems to be rather random, basically everything on the game lags and stops for abotu 10-20secs.... then it all unfreezes and carrys on like normal. both mobs+players stop.

we've booted server up with a basic q-function, as we thought it may be are massive q-function causin lag, however that made no difference and lag still occurs....

CPU usage runs between 5-20% - surely that means the dedi host is fine?

any ideas please?...

baring in mind m2server gives NO errors, since transferin to new dedi the "invalid pointer operation" has gone

What client are you useing? Try useing the euro mir client and see how that goes, If not then im guessing its defo a problem with the files as Koni had this problem on thier server. Do you use the guild system updates ect? I think that caused a fair amount of lag on bandet.

I really cant see why a server would need more ram than 2 gig. How big are your spawn rates? how many maps do you have full of mobs? what version of sql are you useing?

Lotto NPC
Its loading about 10000 lotto tickets when it reloads and thats killing the server

Delete all your lotto NPCs or lower the number of tickets it loads under the [GOODS] list from within the NPC

That's a good point cos I was on in the early hours between 2:30 and 4:30am and there was no lag.
But then again there was also only 13 people online.

if its not the remote login then try to rebuild your data/client folders as i had a lot of lag when rebuilding Hell2.3 folders i was using some wrong maps with a set of tiles files that had the images in the wrong places.

surely bugged client would only affect the ppl with the bugged client... ppl have logged on with OS client and norm euro client with exe... both lags

im pretty sure its something 2 do with server files/dedi pc... not the client :x

k so i might have found the problem, or at least a problem.

basically there are some spawns that cant be edited, or deleted.... i know ucan delete em usin a query alaysis thing but i dunno how to do this on SQL2005... well actually i did do it, but then i booted up server and got this

[17/07/2007 11:53:16] Guilds: 1
[17/07/2007 11:53:16] Total Castles: 1
[17/07/2007 11:53:16] StartTimer exception: List index out of bounds (0)

whats that mean? (server was online but no OK Screen)

im guessin ididnt do the query thing properly... (cant even remmber how idid it now either lol -.-)

can ne1 explain how id go about deletin these undeletable/uneditable spawns?

the way i was doin it, was settin all to false under fbl_load... and the 1s that cant be changed stayed at true

then did a query to delete all true.. which it did.. but then when ibooted up i got that m2 error and no ok screen.

thx.

On nemesis server they get lag between 10-20 seconds when ever someone stores something. (that also get lag when ever someone logs on)

havent got a clue why but it might be something else to investigate, if the sql theory does give any results.
