well if i make a server and everyone can join it would i be able to run the server ofline for just me to use cos mine works ofline, but when im online when peeps try to come on they just keep gettin con closed have i messed up somewhere?

I read that about 4 times and still not certain what you are asking. Do you want people to access your server? Or are you trying to stop them accessing it while you run it for yourself?

IP's! its allllllll down to IP's lol

unless you have router/firewall/port issues that i dont fully understand...

99% of the time its IP related thou!

Use windows search to look for any files in your server folder containing the text "127.0.0.1"

Open any files it finds and replace 127.0.0.1 with your IP then make sure the people who will be connecting to your server use the same IP in thier client .ini's

That should work fine apart from as was said above, if you have some router action going on

If you don't know what a router is then you don't have one, don't worry about it

lol ok welll i searched all my files for ip's what u told me search for and nothin but still dont work

make sure you arent running a firewall

click start then run then C:/ then after tht in the address bar thing type network connections and if a network called local area connection 4 and says firewalled under it then right click it then proberties then advances then untick the top 1

what about the IP's in the client files, have you made sure thsoe are right?

i run my server just on lan for now till i have made it the best i can, not tryed it online yet but i dint think you put your online ip in all the server folders just a few but i dont know but i also whould like to know how to get it on line

im pretty sure all my ip's are right , could someone maybe add me msn and maybe like i send em files and they check em or somet, not all the files cos that'd take abit, but just the files need checking
