Basically they sent out most of the games along with cd keys that don't work as the printers were missing out a digit or something. As well as that the installer decides to mess up randomly and to top it all off your only allowed 5 installations of it due to EA's DRM thingy and they even install all the anti copyright spyware for you. I feel I've not bought the game but instead I've rented it, makes you almost want to get a hacked copy.

So far I'm not overly impressed sadly, after being a massive c&c fan I have been looking forward to it for a long time. The single players pretty good, the intros and stuff are really impressive, but usually I don't even bother with it. It's lost that epic battle feeling the other red alerts and everything seems to be too powerful and so things die too quick. It's an amusing game, but not one I could see myself getting engrosed in the online aspect like with others, I'll be sticking with SC I think.

That says it all also if their reg servers go down in the future for any reason and you want to use 1 of limitted reinstalls you cant activate it (less im mistaken) leaving you with a rather expensive coaster in effect

Yeh it's just EA's new games that are using it. Really hope they change their minds as it's rediculous, the game was cracked the first day of release anyway, all EA are doing is punishing the people who actually do pay for games.

And the cd key thing is pretty funny. I had to cycle through the alphabet 3 letters at a time (then I'd restart the installer) in order to get my last key digit and activate it properly.

Got a feeling it was available on piratebay before the official release but i could be mistaken but you've got the exact point they are only punishing those who want to buy it honestly, pay the retail price and get limitted use, download a cracked copy for free and get unlimitted use. What a blow against encouraging piracy!

ppl will always pirate pc games. it wont be stopped.

ill only ever buy games that i know are worth playing. for example, ill never download any of the tomb raider series, ill always go out and buy it.

tbh, i think if they made demos of the games more readily available (like giving away the free demo in stores like a week before they were released) then alot more people would buy the full game.

having to download a 1gb demo just to find its a crap game isnt worth it. you might aswell just download the 2gb full game.

its not something they are ever going to be able to seriously stop but measures like this are plain idiotic, they dont effect those they are meant to target and they limit the actual honest consumers

if i buy a game i want to buy it, not expensively rent it

No C&C games have anyhting on Generals if you havnt tried it i suggest you do as its by far the best and still a massive amount of people still playing online on Zero Hour, i pre ordered Zero Hour like 5 years ago and i still play everyday!
