Refining information (GM awncer only please, no trolls permitted)

Just a quick one for GM/dev team or someone that achally knows, no guess work.

Whats the Refining cap? and how does it work with gems.


Take a serpent sword for example.
I know if i refine a Serpent sword to SC+3, i cannot use Gems to add any more SC, witch is fair.

But refining to SC+4, is this possible?

And

IF by a chance someone was able to refine a weapon to +7, does this mean you cannot add any Gems to this item? for say, freezing/speed ect ect.
even though the item hasnt been gemmed atall, would the gem cap +7 play effect if the item refine was +7

The Cap only applies to adding Stats via Gems/Orbs. So yes in your Serpent Sword example you can refine it past +3.

For your other example once the Stat gets to +3 (And +7 overall) from any process (Added drop, gem, refine) you won't be able to use Gems/Orbs on it

so i would need to gem/orb and item before refining it?

so if i had a +7 gemmed weapon(+3speed, +4freeze for example), i can still refine it to the refining limit? what ever the limit mayb?

just want this to be clear before i waste my time/resources

Milo please add on your "To fix" bug list this:

I am sure that when my MoralRing was a fresh drop it had + dura on it. Dura shouldn't count as an extra stat when geming for durability only. As I trying to gem it now (its only dura 3/3) ain't working.

A bug that needs fixing. Thx
