RMS Quest // Spirit Set - Suggestion - Drop on Death instead of Break

Just a suggestion carrying on from the RMS quest thread.

Would it be possible to have it so that with between an 80-100% chance you would drop the RMS quest weapon on a PvP death? (Quest would be repeatable but would cost an increasing value in gold to do so, making it a good cash sink)

This would still have that risk vs reward factor while not having you lose your prized weapon to lag or a bug, it would also encourage PvP as you'll be running round with a bright red weapon that any PKer knows you have a very high chance of dropping should they manage to PK you.

Second to this would it be possible to do the same with the Spirit Set items? If you're wearing less than the complete set you would have between an 80-100% chance to drop the set items with that chance of dropping removed if you are wearing the entire set.

Really opposed to this. Potential for greifing or targeting. People will end up not using it.

It's also very unfair on one class. It's a wizard weapon lets face it. Wizards are also the easiest class to 'gank'. No other class has to risk losing their weapon in this way.

I would end up TTing rather than fighting as I have a high chance of losing my weapon if I lose and I don't get the same reward if I win the fight. So I think it would have the opposite result and reduce fights.

I'm also against this. Any wizard weilding a RMS is going to get 1 hit the moment shield drops.

In PVP RMS never broke but could potentially drop. (Same as normal)

In PVE death it would always break - in this senario I obviously would prefer it to drop instaed or atleast have a chance to.

Ok I appreciate this, but the current option is if you die it breaks into a thousand pieces and you lose it anyway so this is better in terms of the item still exists and isn't destroyed its also still a % chance we could even be conservative and make it a much lower % chance of drop and tweak accordingly? (start at 30%?)

In its current state due to BOD I've barely seen any classes regularly using the RMS quest-line weapons in any server I've played mainly due to server instability making the risk of BOD too high (it gives Sin weapons as well IIRC) I would like to see them find a balance that makes the weapon more attractive to use than having the very antiquated system of BOD.

Are you saying it breaks on PVP death on here? If so that sucks. Never did anywhere else i've played.

A good player is able to keep a RMS going for a long time.. I had one on euro refined to 10-10, never did break it.. my chars probably still wearing it now ;) I remember seeing one on the dragon server 10-20 lol (Though if i remember right, the guy that made that one would crash the server to cause a rewind whenever it broke)

I don't think its in at the moment, they are still re-working the quest line and making it a bit more fun apparently.
