not sure if tht worked,

basicly i can get on mir, but i get lag spikes every 10mins or so, and i never had it till i got this router

is a wireless belkin or somethink o_0

i think maybe i should try not use wireless n put a wire into it from the wireless box-> my computer.

but belkin emailed me saying that they block all ports apart from port 80 ??

''Appropriate ports has to be opened in the belkin router in order play
games without any issues. Because the router has got a firewall and by default
all the ports are closed except Port Number 80. Identify the port that needs to
be opened from the manufacturer and open it in your router from the steps
below.

- Log on to router setup page by typing 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of the
browser.

- On the left under Firewall click on the option Application Gateway.
''

i think that what i just did fixed it, ill go ingame and c if i dun get spikes :)

ty much

[Edit]-[Still getting lag spikes :( going to E-mail belkin again]

These lag spikes are common for WLANs. One cause might be poor reception.

Some people claim there are software hacks for that, but in all honesty there's only two solutions. Either move your Wireless Router and PC closer together, or get a bigger antenna for your PC.

just use wired connection. and make sure you check your virus/spyware.

well if you have a 108mbps wireless network card, it comes as 54mbps preset standard, and the software provided with it, boosts the connection strength to 108mbps, so there are official ones for your cards but not like "ZOMG I CAN LEECH AURONS INTERNET!!!"

Actually, my WLAN is suprisingly secure, given that no one within 15 miles has one except me now ;)

Speed comes at the expense of packetloss, and packetloss can cause lag spikes.

In your software, you should be able to optimise for range over speed. If you can make this choice, do it.

And because i'm such an asshole, i'm attaching an image of how i configured mine.

ye, my wireless is 108.11g or something??

and my wireless box, is about 1 metre away from my pc lol,

i DID have it sortd, i blew all the dust out of inside my of my pc, but now its started again, and theirs no dust in the computer.

but when it did go a way for a little while, my sound wasnt working(maybe why theirs lag spikes)

but i updates 'audio codecs' and lag spikes r back and sound works..how i get rid of audio codecs, tht myt fix it

[Edit] - [You know how you said the ports for mir where 7000+7201, where they for priv servers, or to play mir?

i need let my firewall let them go thru so i can PLAY mir]

Well, for the sound, you'd need to go into the BIOS and disable onboard AC97 sound.

As for the ports, it was a port range. Port 7000 was the Login port, Port 7100 the Selchar, and port 7200 the actual game. So opening the port range between 7000 and 7201 would cover all your options.
