Hi Guys,

I have no issues on my desktop but on my laptop i cannot seem to get Mir to display on the screen properly.

It seems to only show on the middle two thirds of the screen leaving a large black rectangular block to the left and the right.

Anyone got any idea how this can be fixed? Ive fiddled with several settings to no avail.

Thanks pal, the plot thickens, followed your instructions and it wont allow me to change "scaling", it only allows me to select "maintain display scaling".

any other suggestions ><

My problem could well be down to privileges, dont know why but certain programs refuse to run properly if not an administrator and i have no idea how to fix that ....

right click the mir2.exe click properties then compatibility at the top, there is a tick box you can select to say to run as administrator,

i don't think that the laptop screen will allow the removal of the black lines due to the age of the game an the screens being in widescreen mode, for me to remove this on my PC TV (its not an actual gaming monitor) is to have it so the game screen slightly bigger than my tv display.

Have you tried dropping the resolution down first? My laptop doesn't give me any other option in scaling until I lower the resolution. You can put it back to normal after and it will still work.

If that still doesn't work, check your account is set as an Administrator in User Controls, also try turning off UAC.

Open User Account Control Settings by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type uac, and then click Change User Account Control settings.
Do one of the following: To turn off UAC, move the slider to the Never notify position, and then click OK.

Glad it worked. I know the black borders was something that really annoyed me at first!
