No I don't get "Shot" down as you so put it at all Prai, I just see people who still don't have a comprehension of what the "Internet" is. Like I said you can't sensor the "Internet" and it certainly won't affect the rest of the world at all.
@Geo - And where have you been the last 5 years, a good 70% of the world have recently shown there displeasure at the US and certainly won't follow suit, as most here seem to think they will.
@Mental - It won't effect you though would it, seeing as you moved your servers to Russia. Oh hang on a second, most of the sites hosted in the US would do the same and infact a fair few have all ready done so ahead of the debate for the new bill.
There is some serious stupidity coming from certain people on this site and its been rather amusing to actually see, especially when people seem to know what they are talking about, when infact they are actually not. There is a lot of fact missing from the whole of this and there is a lot of misinterpretation and false facts to get the point of this pertition across, there are also some very fundamental flaws in the whole of this petition as well. One being the fact that most of LOMCN are not US Nationals - But hay carry on thinking that you can help by signing a petition for the US congress.....
I'm not sure if it should be 100% unregulated, theres some nasty stuff out there, but i don't think censorship is the way
The internet wasn't designed to be in the complex of what it is now, it was purely designed for world network access for Military and Goverment use. It was the introduction of HTTP and the creation of WWW that created it to be what it is now and thats what we have. However let America censor its own country, if they want to be like China, then let it be, it won't have any major effect on the rest of the world and this is the point that people need to remember.
Also as I've all ready pointed out, if the bill is passed and they do get the power to censor in the US. Anyone with half a brain cell would work out, that they are better off moving there servers to another "non" censing country and they would move, especially if it effects their business.
What I do find funny about this whole pettition, is the lack of informative information being given. Even if America got this bill passed, not only is it flawed, but the "Bill of Rights" out rules it and so do so many others that America have and it would also need the allteration of them to succeed. Remember America pass several thousand bills a year and then the following year they throw in another few thousand more to out rule the ones they did the year before.
@Tai - Its only moved in the last year and the last time I checked the who.is, it was still hosted in the UK.
