Well, i am running on Windows XP Professional SP2. I want to install Windows 2000 as a second OS to run along wtih the XP installation. I have created the partition for the Windows 2000 installation, but when i try to run the installer, it says that the install function has been disabled because there is a newer version of Windows installed. So how do i install it as a second OS?

Thank you.

Yes, i did use PMagic 8.0 for making the new partition for the new install. And yes, i don't really want to format as i have 80GB of data i do NOT want to loose or redownload :(, going to check out the websites you gave me.

EDIT

Pfft, for some reason i can't boot from the Win2k CD, maybe because it's a pirated copy or something? I think it said something like "Please instert a system disc and press ENTER" or something like that.

Then use a floppy with CD-ROM support to enter the CD and load the setup file. There are plenty of these floppys downloadable on the internet.

Alternatively get a better Win2k download.

Naw, i'm trying to sort him out with the bootable CD patch :P

A far better option than requiring a floppy, and would work even if he got one of the new Appletel macs :P

As a matter of fact, i did have a Apple computer once :D, but well it really did suck, never want to touch a Mac after that.
