Hi,
i am trying to set the server to work through the internet. i have an adsl router behind it so i setted it to open the tcp ports 7000,7100,7200 to the internal ip which my computer uses, also setting in the Lan connection to read as primary dns then one which appears in the status page of my router and as secondary dns the ip of my gateway.

i wanted to know which ip i should use to load the server up since when i load it with the internal ip the gates open correctly but i cant connect to the server through internet, this means that when i try to connect to the server using its external ip i can reach the login gate, insert user and pass and the doors get stuck

else if i set it to load with the external ip the gates just dont open so i dont even have to connection working over the internet..

what should i do please?

Right well it's morning so i might have not understud something, but are you trying to acess the server from the same computer you host it from? Or any other computer near you? If so, try getting someone who lives far from you to try it, you might need to install Loopback.

...
2. Goto "Control Panel" --> "Add Hardware" --> Click Next --> Select "Yes, I have already connected the hardware" --> Scroll down and select "Add a new hardware device" --> Click Next --> Select "Install the hardware that i manually select from a list (Advanced)" --> Scroll to "Network adapters" --> Click Next --> Select "Microsoft Loopback Adapter" --> Click Next

3. Now that "Microsoft Loopback Adapter" is installed goto "Contol Panel" --> "Network Connections" and find the Loopback adapter, When you have found it right click and goto properties, Now on the "General" tab find "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and select it --> Click Next --> select "Use the following IP address" and setup as follows.

IP address: [Internet IP Address]
Subnet mask: {Will Auto Fill}
Default gateway: [Leave Blank]

4. In your server files set all the IP's to your internet IP address
...

just found what you was talking about. going to try it

thanks a lot. server working perfectly
No problem, was a rough guess though ;).

---EDIT---
You might run in to problems though as in some people who are near you will not be able to connect to the server, i think the solution for that is a router wich supports loopback, not really good at routers because i don't have one so that's another rough guess.
