Server db problems ?

Id appreciate any help anyone could give, last 3 days i have reinstalled sql and re-imported mir3db database file many times :/ i think my problem must be db related although i have followed the setup guides exactly.. Ive checked other threads and noticed other people with the same problem, but not yet seen a soloution for it...

I had this problem. Did you put the mir3db into the rite ODBC catergory? not sure if thats it. Its when you click in control panel admistrative controls then ODBC. Did you click on the System DSN tab?

yep, its under system dns .. although under the odbc setup (the part where you select the local server) (local) didnt show up on the drop down menu, i had to type it manualy ? can someone check theres pls and tell me if it should show.. ive reinstall the sql software many times now still with no success :/

did you install the odbc after sql ?
Cos you cant do odbc till sql is set up
my entry is under user DSN and it works fine.
also dbsvr.exe has not been started i notice ?
Did you click the blue triangle ?
settings in there are:
you must click blue start button before you boot up eiserver.exe

name: server name
game db: database name ie (mir3db)
account db: mir3b
id:sa
password:******
address:127.0.01
port:5600
game server binding port:6000
run gate binding port:5100

map file path: c:/mud3/mir300/Envir - or wherever you have your maps stored
