server problem help plz :D

ahoy there, I've followed a guide to get a server going and it all works fine until I click my char, after that the screen just stays black, any help appreciated, ta

Make sure all IP's are right, make sure Paths are correct, use a server launcher (look in add development for that) Also, how much ram have you got and what are your PC specs?

my PC specs are as follows :- P4 3 Ghz, 512DDram,G force 4 128MB, 80GB hard disk and windows XP

also if ur using fernys. or some other untouched. i had this prob and what i did was go in server files and type a line notice to what should come up after u click ur char. like the gm's names etc. try that. it worked for me.

If the music still plays in the background, then its an incorrect IP. IF ur using a Server launcher, make sure none of your files are set to read-only, cos if they are then the launcher cannot update them.
