ok guys, think i have nough money to get my replacement cpu now, i was looking for exactly what i had before
amd athlon xp 3000+, retail box, inc. heatsink fan and 3 years warranty as standard,
could you guys help me find the cheapest possible , OR, the OEM version retail boxed cpu and a cheap enough heatsink that performs well,

Why spend money on old slow technology, spend a little more $$ and get a cheap s754 or s939 mobo+cpu off ebay.

i cant get any better stuff, because i have no money, sorry for not being rich, but i cannot afford new technology, and its not slow in my standards i dnt wana use it for game raping like some ppl do, i want it for basic stuff, and it ran WoW and CS before, very well, so im sticking with it,

ebuyer can suck my wang tbh, i cant get a CPU till they get there fcuknig acts together, i've waited nearly 2 months for my refund, and once they've said they've given it to me , but they havent, so i've emailed them final time, telling them i want my refund within 5 days or im taking the matter to my solicitor

thing is, 1.6ghz is actually slower than what i asked you to look for, and thats come to more expensive,

and urban i have a, Asus a7v8x-x series socket a mobo

Well I was going to say get a AXP Mobile chip and OC it, but your mobo won't like that very much.

And with Auron's setup not only can you overclock it, but a 754 sempron would smash an socket A athlon.

That 1.6ghz would beat your AXP 3000+ into the ground, and then EAT the corpse.

Also note that motherboard has inbuilt graphics and support for PCI-e.

You won't get that much of a better setup for the same price.

so, would that 64 sempron be faster than my athlon xp 3000+ in actual fact then??

i dnt really need inbuilt graphics but i suppose they would come in handy if my gfx card died, also if i upgrade to a wonderful pci-e card then i suppose that would in handy, i will wait an extra week or two to get the additional money, and buy those two, thanks guys

but about the OC, i think you would have to give me a few tips on msn urban and show me what to do, if you would be so kind

A 1.6 would be about the same or better in certain applications then the 3000+. but overclocked it would smash it.

ok will get the 2600, but i was told by someone that, the mobo auron showd me was pretty lame, is it? if it is kinda i wana spend a bit more money and get quite a good mobo

Never heard of the company but the chipset is good, got one at work. Since you want to overclock here's a mobo that should give you a few more options.

found a nice bundle on ebay, ASrock mobo, and 64 athlon sempron 3000+ for £100 gna get it on saturday
