I already got both cards. For ATI i say buy BBA or Saphire, and for Nvidia i'd say anyone really, but i specifically like Evga. As for overclocking i wouldn't use the manufactuers tools, use Coolbits, it's specifically built for oc'ing nvidia cards in the Nvidia control panel.

DO NOT BUY SAPPHIRE. They are the most deplorable manufacturer of computer goods i have ever seen. I do not know of a single person who has not had trouble with a sapphire ATI card. Go for a big make, not a huge ram chunk. If you're looking for Nvidia, get Gainward cards. They're excellent for the overclock. And their tools are pretty damn good for overclocking, though they won't let you do any of the advanced tweaking an app like aTuner will let you do.

Yes, i'd say a review of the X800 is needed, but don't forget to include the things that matter to the majority. The cost, power consumption, and size. What socket it takes etc. Then, compare in games that people really play. UT2k4, Halo, NFS:U are all good examples.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. Here in the USA they are the most recommended brand to buy to flash your X800 Pro to a an XT. Seriously Auron my god do they suck that bad over in Europe? The cards you get can't be different than ours... maybe different manufactuering plant but still. Hell do you know how cool saphire is lol? They sponsor our lan party!!! I don't know anyone who has had a problem with them.....

They suck harder than a Dyson D06. That's the 8-cycloned model.

Everyone i've met with a sapphire had to down-clock their PC to get any degree of smooth behaviour, heck i had to do it with my sapphire. I mean, take a look at their tech support forums + staff. Almost non-existant....though they do pack their cards with a hell of a lot of stuff....

Yeah, Gainward are expensive here too, but when it comes to overclocking and performance, they're unbeatable.

Nvidia and ATI are still struggling to ship X800XT Platinum and the Geforce 6800 Ultra imagine how long it will take them to take new NV48 and R480 on market. µ

I have already seen that article. And i can garentee you, that no, 512mb cards will def not be out this summer in the USA. In fact, i predict, that 512mb cards wont be here till 2005. Believe what you want

Let me rephrase that. We will not have any 512mb GAMING cards out this year. Of course there our 512mb workstation cards already out with double gpu's, but those suck for anything gaming related.

Geforce 7413 ultra extreme platinum edtion 512mb?
Radeon V100 to the 10th power hyper speed enhanced 512mb vc?

Not this year.
