Get a server with OVH, their DDOS is cheap and one of the best I have ever had experience with. I have also noticed the majority of high populated WOW P servers use them.


A large botnet would not even be able to bring you down if you're with OVH http://www.ovh.co.uk/anti-ddos/


http://www.ovh.co.uk/dedicated_servers/infra/2014-EG-32.xml is what I would go for. That does not include the price of Windows (around £20). Some of their http://www.kimsufi.com/uk/ or http://www.soyoustart.co.uk/ would do the job however it's not possible to get Windows on those ranges

To save money you could use their IMPI to install your own version of Windows

Most DoS attacker doesn't actually monitor it, they leave it to do its job till they get bored...they wouldn't even notice the IP change for ages lol

Agreed OVH very good, very cheap.

On the windows side of things, I can chuck you a windows 2008 or windows 2012 r2 licence (Depending which one you need) to save the extra £20 a month.

I've a couple of their servers for some things and my licences work fine with their servers.

This however all depends on if you're currently under contract at futurehosting or not. But if you're not, long term i'd strongly suggest a move to OVH

Before you accuse maybe you should have some evidence. There are plenty of servers it could be... Scorps obviously just trying to keep his user count up.

Could be fallen heros, 4heroes, the golden age crew... Y'no it could even be a chinese server! Not bumlicking but to be fair nobody knows who so dont point.

If you read my post you would see it was just a thought, nothing else and i didn't outright accuse the server but i'm allowed to voice my honest opinion, which is fallen heroes = no, golden age = to stupid, 4heroes = dunno, forever = no (no longer pay to win and cut off ********s also), Acadia = the most to lose but like i said it is just a thought nothing more...

As I was driving home I came to a similar conclusion. There is really only one motive for the DoS and it's other private server owners getting scared. As you said, I thought of Scorp and forgot Lapta but in all honesty, who the hell still plays Mir Revenge?

My fingers pointed at Arcadia but at the end of the day, whoever is behind it, is seriously unwanted in the Mir community - This happens on too many servers to a game we all love.

Quick update to let you all know that we are still working (I've had 6 hours sleep in almost 2.5 days lol)...

Our current hosting company, in my opinion, are not taking me serious enough and are not resolving this fast enough for my liking, so I am currently looking into alternative companies... ovh is a potential candidate, however, unfortunately they are French and therefore don't work the weekend.

We will keep you posted with any and all progress we make, however, as the attacks on the forums have only just let up I foresee the culprit coming back for a round 2 at some point tomorrow.<br><br>Once again apologies for the down time.

I think OVH is definitely the way forward long term, it isn't going to solve the short term though.
