Thats what mirs been about since day one , your a tad late with that comment buddy....wake up

I think they need to be reminded every now and again though, snap them back to reality, because everyone seems to forget that there is 0, yes 0 skill involved.

Just a little add on to koribans post.

For those of you who's are using a old laptop / pc with "ONBOARD Graphics" who can not afford a better one / new pc i also have a fix for you guys as when i started chron i was using a old I3 Toshiba Laptop, in every pc / laptop with onboard graphics there will be like a driver pack somewhere you can open where you can tweak you onboard graphics on my toshiba laptop i just simply right click on my desktop then "Graphics options" you can play around with this i adjusted everything to best performance and went from 40 FPS to 55 FPS ( This was before i found about aero / metal gear themes )

Hope this helps some of you.

Hope this helps some of you.

This is false. A "skilled" warrior same level same kit, will compeltely annihilate same warrior simply holding Shift ("no-skilled") for example.

Skilled range classes don't make their movements completely obvious. Zig zag when being chased by melee, turn quickly. etc. Then of course, simply aiming correctly with your mouse whilst doing all this. Managing pots correctly (this has been made redundant by auto pot though) and Tao's used to be incredibly skillful in fights, swapping ammies/poises etc but now it all just does it all for you. Handed to you on a plate.

There's about as much skill in Mir as there is in any mmo, it's just "dumbed" down to 5 classes instead of the usual 9 or 10 so everyone knows every classes moves/cooldowns almost from the start of the server. That's why you have top-tier guilds, and low-tier guilds. Always will always have.

If you're slow in-game and you know 100% it's not your ping to the server, as you live either in the UK or very close to france, then you'll probably benefit from reading this.

Firstly, upgrade to windows 7 or 8.

Then make sure you have Windows Aero themes installed. Make sure at all times when playing Mir, you use a windows aero theme. When recording, make sure windows Aero isn't disabled also for a smooth recording. (This includes streaming)

This will get you to the speed cap of the server set by Samuel. The difference is astounding compared to basic themes.

If after doing this, you are still incredibly slow in-game compared to others, it is most likely outdated hardware (Graphicscard) not being able to cope with the new lighting textures etc this server brings, as I know most of you still have/play on your "Mir computers".

There are of course things you can do to make your connection to the server more stable, but use of 3rd party programs is not recommended unless approved by the Team, else you may get banned. WTFast is a good tool if you live far away from the server and is confirmed usable by Samuel and the team.

I'll upload a video comparison shortly. Hope this helps.

Josh is it wise to waste more of your time on **** like this? I mean, i could've told you all this! Wait , i did!

The skill you are talking about takes one day for anyone with common sense to grasp and execute... There are people here who have played this game for years and believe they are at a much higher level than the newly folk that just joined... This isn't true, and you can say whatever you want to make it less painful having spent years on this game but that doesn't change anything...

You have top tier guild and low tier guild yes.. The top tier are the ones without a job who have the time to geek this game all day and all night. Mir level is based on two factors. Speed and the time... Time to sit on your ass geeking those levels away... Those who shift simply have the speed advantage... The slower ones naturally attempt to hit air until they get a hit in.

I have upset people in the past because they want to believe all the years they have spent on this game has given them a special set of skills that your average newbie doesn't possess.. This isn't true unfortunately.

Why do you feel the need to speed up your PC exactly? Anyways I am not going to spam your thread so I'm others will follow this guide, tweak their PC, and feel they are skilled in some way.

If that were true, TKO and LoM who outnumber us when together in Orcs would win 100% of the time, as according to you there's no skill. So simply having greater numbers wins.

Couldn't be more wrong. The "skill" you speak of lies in coordination in fights, not the single player themselves. People who work better as a team > those who don't. That's where the skill is and that's why you have top tier guilds.

Before I got the good items and before I was at speed cap I smashed people who were at cap, had better items, higher level and were cheating. Typical low tier playing claiming the game they're bad at requires no skill.

You could beat people who ran the game faster, had better items, were higher level AND cheated?

Christ, you must be some sort of GOD!

thats right, co-ordination, target calling makes a fight a fight, but it does also count on speed and items, as u hit more damage. 9 times out of 10 i hit thin air i might look quick but cos of my 400ms i have a huge delay and where you are on my screen, you are actually 2 steps away on yours(english based players)

There is no skill. Theres those that take the game far too serious and those that dont.
Items > team speak, skype = coordination.
No skill involved.

There is no skill in mir of any kind.
Spending money helps the most
Speed helps second most
Skype teamspeak help too but playing mir over and over again with the same people helps more
Knowing the game because you have worked with and understand the files helps a lot playing same game files for 12 years with teh same people helps more
Having time to geek helps spending lots cash on exp pots and last suppers helps more
being able to pay someone to level you as well helps even more
knowing the files and testing to destruction finding every weakness and using it also helps
None of it is skill it is simply slogging away repeating and repeating trying things many times
No skill in there at all

To say no skill is required to play mir would mean a first timer who has never played the game before would be as capable as someone who has played the game for 10 years.

Nice paragraph tho.

Lol at all the skill talk. It exists some just have other words for it. Most often its when I'm 15on1ing tko in iwt or 5on1ing in orcs against em. I find it funny to know people are raging behind their monitors.

Yes exactly Not ability not talent not intelligence not flair or style or genius just sit and do it again and again for years. Its the implication that there was something more than knowing what yr doing happening. Nope, there isnt.

Repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and doing it again over and over makes you better at almost anything in the end.
It is not some mystical talent that you seem to think you have. Its TWELVE YEARS of same same same thats got you where you are today. Slightly fatter fish in little puddle.
At best you are boasting about being more ocd than everyone else.
.
My other points stand and you know I am right.
Money, speed, time(with money is even better), testing for weakness, knowlege of hacked stolen files, back doors, cheats edits. blah blah.
This is why p servers fail. There are more people trying to beat the game, invent cheats, find ways round or though. User count is almost down to only those players now(average p server population). The rest who play for fun, to pass the time, casually, nostalgia, because its there or find old e mates have all gone or going.

I have only been attacked on this server a few times, but whenever it's a melee trying too, I can out walk them and don't even attempt to run, actually quite fun when they finally just give up and let me carry on leveling. Infact it's only ever melee that have attempted to PK me.
