Sluggish group play

I realise similar topics have been discussed but as I haven't been playing that much recently I only noticed last night that hunting in a group is soo sluggish.

The sluggishness was further enhanced whenever firewall was being used. I tried disabling effects of different things but nothing seemed to help.

I am using a laptop which ran Acem2 fine, it's windows 8.1 8gb ram it has non dedicated graphics card which is crap but it hasnt been a problem until chronicles.

Anyone had any similar problems and managed to get any improvements? It's not going to stop me playing, just have to stay away from group play a bit more as it's a pain in the ass!

Thanks in advance

Yeah I seem to be fine in small groups 2/3. Last night was about 7/8 and it was slow. As I mentioned before was alot worse when wizzies had fw up. Would have random moments where there was no fw and I would suddenly speed up again.

I was the same with groups and safezones, as soon as pvp started i used to just rt/tt because everythign was 4-5 steps ahead.

Thankfully i was due a pc upgrade as mine was many moons old so im now enjoying a great number of games i couldn't play before and when i do log into mir its as smooth as the non crunchy variety of peanut butter.

if your keeping the equipment you already have then a few suggestions passed me while i was 2steppin in groups.
one was to run the client in XP mode through the exe setting tab. - seemed to help a little but not much.
run the exe as admin - didnt notice a difference.
to apply aero themes in windows 7, don't know anything about 8 so no idea if that's relevant. - little difference.

I also tried turning people off, graphix off, spells off everything off and it made no difference because the client is still sending that info because its still happening...

Alright thanks for the reply, i'll have a mess around and see if anything helps. I would love to upgrade to something with dedicated graphics memory as from what i have read this seems to be the best answer lol... Unfortunately it is just not on the cards right now.

Sadly, integrated graphics cards and Chronicles don't mix well. There's a lot of new lighting and graphic features that put too much strain on the card so in a group fight you'll experience delays/lags.

I'd recommend getting a very cheap gaming desktop. With the right setup you can get something that'll play any game and won't cost you a fortune. Laptops are not really good gaming machines - and when they are, they're at 2x the cost of a desktop.

This is not down to a gfx card or low end pc/laptop, it's something elce

Wait till this happens to you, and you will see for your self, its not all the time its complete random

and btw my gfx is sapphire hd 7770 edition and i play good games like battelfield 4 no problems at all

this is something to do with being in a group not being next to other players

Can you post your full pc specs, please? I'm adamant that this is an issue on your end that can be fixed.

Only issue I can see is your graphics card being optimized for when Windows Vista was released.

Besides that, you should be fine.

Can you describe the lag you get? Do you run as if you're overweight, or do you suddenly drop frames and people start running faster? Try running Fraps next time you play, and let me know if your FPS drops suddenly when it happens.

Yer it's very similer to bag over weight but think it's alittle diffrent

If i drop from a group it stops right away, instant fix

This is why i said its defo something to do with group mode

Added this to the bug tracker and will notify the coders, thanks for reporting.

It could be a graphics card issue maybe..? With more on the screen to process..? I know it was similar for me especially when at SW or hunting until I upgraded my graphics card

That isn't a bug it means your pc / laptop has most likely got **** graphics card / onboard graphics, i used to get it, download Fraps and record your fps in your next group fight that sounds like your problem thats how i felt a little overweight.

Maybe try installing a fresh OS?

I have absolutely no issues with this server and infact watch over 50% of the server 2 step or lag behind while running. I don't have an amazing PC by any means just quality build and alot of attention to detail.

AMD 8320 x8 @ 3.65ghz
16GB DDR PC1066 ram
Nvidia Geforce 650Ti Boost 2GB
SSD Boot drive with mir and a few other games on it.

Even with 128ms I've yet to have a single slowdown ingame. Funny thing is I upgraded to an R9 290 a few months ago and it played mir like crap. Stuck it in my intel rig =\

Hearing about lag ingame but not noticed at all except for a few random DC's witch usually happens from my end =\

Thanks for the replies! Yeah my laptop does have shirty built in graphics but I'm not upgrading just for mir lol. Is the graphical/visuals of chronicles that much more than Acem2 though? As I hunted in groups all the time on there and encountered no problems.

I was exactly the same on my laptop that was pretty much the same spec only difference id say was i was running windows 7 rather than 8, i got a new pc and that solved it, the graphics in the laptop just couldn't handle this server for some reason
