Some Nostalgic Fun

I started playing Mir 2 after seeing it on Game Network. I think it was still in beta as you didn't have to subscribe yet. I played on D server for a while, can't remember what my char was called though.
I remember the subs system coming in and asking my mum to borrow her credit card to pay for it and telling her I would pay her back with my paper round money.

I stopped playing for a while but when I came back I started again on P server. I was a wiz called CrystalMage. I eventually joined a guild run by Frazer called New Age Outlaws. Met a warrior called Fujin and we ended up taking over the guild when Frazer went AWOL. We created a new guild called SSDD which was actually named by a couple called Mewt and Dernhelm. Me and Fujin ran SSDD for a while.

Just after the 5 year anniversary event I went to try out a very memorable server called RageZone. I played this for a while with Fujin. Then i got into WoW.

I have come back to Mir many times, playing many different servers. I don't play any servers currently but I do dabble around with the code as my IRL job is a .NET developer and a SQL DBA. So I am currenlty seeing what can potentially be done with what I know about C# and SQL. Who knows, I might even release a shitty cash cow server one day :witless:

Well Well Well,

My memory is extremely sketchy but I will give it a go...

Went round my step brothers house at the age of 13 and used to watch him play 1.4. Instantly went home and tried to download... took me 2weeks until I found a download manager through 56k AOL and finally got on..Created my 1st char on P server! He played James66 and I create salut (male warrior)
The following week we went on holiday whilst the RME patch came into effect we both spent the whole holiday chatting about it.
Had to pay for Mir using some dodgy online card that could be topped up at the shop - Nightmare!
Spent the first couple of years being an absolute tool.. Recall Pking, robbing drops, Pking, levelling in Mines listening to DJ Sammy where in heaven! Remember epic Sabuk fights when they had archers and it took 2hours to break down the wall, running 50 people through SSG - ThunderDog with a lvl 7 BES wrecking everyone in sabuk always sticks in my mind.

Following that I managed to get my best mate on it, he created 1stAngel and I acquired a tao called Qwen. Step brother re-rolled due to his bad rep into a char called FrozenFizz
Settled down then and eventually joined KoS with Avenger, Nightcrawl, Zgoten, SourSkittles, Triggerhappy, NejDaTurk, Gwyl Loads of others too! and levelled like crazy TS'ing in BDD, never left BDD unless there was a OKS fight. - We used to smash Mileena's? guild
Bought an SC20 SBF which someone had refined and Solo'd ZT every 3 hours until I was rich. Had this weird drop once which dropped like 6 rare items...
Got the 1st SOWG on Phoenix from MTK did a deal with the war for loads of items was convinced he was going to steal as he had picked it up!
Noticable other events:
Fusion, Asurman, Subzero, Aprilmoon, all the GOD chars, DiabloDoom epic names....
Traded 1stangels mc13 Hooked spear to a guy pretending to be triggerhappy was a V on the end not a Y - ****! (before BoS was out)
Raced SuperSayanWar? to EM KR on a full server hunt to kill EM was epic took 3hours and it just dropped everyone!
Luring skeles on people during the skele untame bug
Doristhebrave (still regret stealing a DSS off her) i did give it back though......
Passing items to Chinese in 1.4 who would special repair all our accessories they had all sorts of cheats
Queuing 15hours for OKS to get an OSR
Joining Nowheremans crusade cant remember the guild on D server possibly carebears? all levelled to 20-25 and sent 30 people marching through PT just pking anyone in sight
The guy who held GM's to ransom as he found a bug was instantly levelled to 40 with dss pararing etc maybe was MentaL?
Sold Mir items to TotalDamage (original) not the little bastard that plays now.. For £££ when I was 16? was buzzing!
Finished off the server with 46 Tao 48 Wizz and 44 war all in awesome kit, theres a video on youtube floating around of us taking out a group in SW who all have instant run cheat!

Following Phoenix I dabbled in P69 and played Ragezone - no idea what my char was called but ended up at a Ragezone meet in Leeds some guy picked us up in his BMW from Manchester Piccadilly, was only like 17? Spent the night in someones front room about 20 of us on the floor...

Played USA for a bit but cant remember char names.
Played Acem2 as Turan - 1stangel was Wang(something) we got 1st telering on server with 2 lads we met up with in the Trafford centre once. Aaron and ? Denny
Played chrons as CrazyStorm, Lavastorm aquired Nyx and joined Team then more recently Spartacus.
Played Marble as Qwen
Played Zircon as Power was in NewOrder - was a really friendly guild! then Sleepingdragons for a bit but I was too far behind at that point...
now play Apoc as Qwen

Find it weird that I cant remember any chars/events in between Phoenix and Chrons!

Haha yes, i remember using Splash plastic card, same one?? Topping up each month to subscribe to Mir.

Acem2 - do you recall roughly when that server was live? Wonder if thats the one i played as Aze/Typh00n

roughly 2013/14? it was directly before chronicles made by the same guy.
