Reporting people to the "Ripper Community" is extreme. All that you had to do was say that he was disqualified from the contest (in my opinion, all mods/admins should be exempt from contests), not threaten him.

Your intentions were good but the way you executed them was immature and amaturish.

I think the rules for the sig contest need to be made more concise and you need a proper judging system and perhaps prizes (to encourage more people to enter and to get more effort from people).
