soz little help with sql plz

i have done a search and i cant find anything on this subject iv tryed 2 set up a server before and it went fine but i reformated my pc.
reinstaled sql got server files again but when i try and restore the data base it comes up with this iv tryed eveything as far as my knowldge will take me
here is a screen shot of the problom

when i restore the database it dosnt restore 2 where i said, but it will restore in the data folder in the sql folder but will not have the tables in sql heellp

when it restores, u have to quit sql and reopen it for the tables to appear.

and currently your restoring it to drive I, so unless you've got an I drive thats your problem.

doesnt take much logic really.

This is even Written in the Damm Guide...as follows:

C. Quite Often the database when backed up on one Computer was located in a Different Place to where you will want to restore this. If for example the Database used to Live on the D Drive under DATA - it will FAIL as you do not have a D Drive or a DATA Directory, SQL Will not make directories for you.​

To Change this, Press Options on the Tab:

Type into here (or copy and Paste) the Location you wish the database to Live, myself I choose :​

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data\​

And whatever the Database name is (in above example C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data\account_Data.MDF)

Force Restore is inly Used of there is already a database with the same name..It Overwrites it bascially



Can people not follow a simple guide with Picture???

lol calm it am not that stupid :P my C drive is called I dnt ask y :P

and as i said before i set up a server fine last time so i can read ur guide :P


i have been trying again and these r the things iv found out

account conlog and crueldragonbasedata ONLY work if i dont change the the physical name when restoring it, it ends up in I:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data and tables r fine.
it dosent work when i choose a correct path. and it comes up with that error even if it is I:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data

game3g hero3g and manage dnt work wether i change the path or not
dnt no if this helps at all just couple of things iv found out

nvm got it sorted
buut any1 got a link 2 a working version of crueldragon.exe version 3.38? just relised the 1 i got isnt working (got no icon on it it just looks like a window blank in the middle)

1st you never explained how you got it working, the links for 3.38 are like all over the place...My Point been is if somebody gets the same problem later, they wont find the answer in this thread and round and round we go...

kk well the reason i didnt post the saloution is cos i feel like a twat lol ill put ma hand up the prob was that i did I:\LS3G-Chinese\LS3G-Chinese\database
insted of I:\LS3G-Chinese\LS3G-Chinese\database\Account_Data
and I:\LS3G-Chinese\LS3G-Chinese\database\Account_Log this y it was coming up with wat it did ill admit was stupid and soz.

also i am using the download for crueldragon.exe v3.38 from kaori's site (ty v much ) but it isnt working and iv done searchs but cant find any others :P

Not a problem that you got it wrong, Im not here to laugh at you. If you can make that mistake then so can others - Hell i was stumped when I first tried to restore a DB and it came up with an error, which is why as I find things out, I will chuck it into a post/guide - the more info the better as they say.

if ur meaning the full set of server files thats wat im using if u mean the links for the kaori site that dnt work either (ty v much btw i wouldnt ov stood a chance at translating files from scratch lol)

kk i got it working got files off a m8
right erm i no that there is a post called how mir fixes together or somthing but i get as far as making a char then it stays @ connection 2 server plz wait im just wondering would the cause of this be a wrong name off starting iteams as i couldnt find starting candle thing so it is still koreon or wateva this maybe be obvous for some but not for me help plz?

Good old !Setup.txt - which needs a program to alter it..

Do you get any errors on the server? All Gates like --][-- for example and so forth...

Also clients, using the Latest Euromir3 client wont connect, same with latest Chinese one, USA one and so forth..these are reffered to as 2005 clients.

right iv edited !setup.txt as far as i no its correct (btw do u need 2 have somthing input for KoreaDir ?)

login server ,
gameserver connected
login gate connected

DBserver,
connected 2 login server
rungate connected

mirlogin, it is like -----][----- but the number next 2 it changes @16 atm

gate30, is like ------][------- and the number changes




rungate, is like ------] [------ and the thing called loop< changes

oh and i have no idea wat client am using lol it a mish mash of things but i can play xtreme with it which i think r on these files ? (by these files i mean LS-chinese )

Ok couple of things to check then...

The IP's & Server name matches in all the files & the database
Re-check !Setup again, make sure it saved your values, you will soon know.
!ServerInfo.txt (DbServer dir only) is pointing to correct IP's..

Bascially until Rungate is --][--- then you wont be able to connect in game, have another gander through all files, its often something simple..

rungate is using port 5010 for serverport

and gate30 is using 5100 for server port r these ment 2 be the same ?

Hmmm...your not thinking straight here and the more you look at this the less chance there is of making it work...maybe go get some sleep and come back to this??

SelChargate will not open (---][---) unless DbServer is running
Rungate wont run Unless both DbServer & The server itself is running and set up properly.

The server takes All its settings from either the CD.INI file or !Setup.txt - nowhere else. If the server is listening on one ip and rungate is told different, then of course it wont connect..

I have taken a Screenshot of all my Programs running for you - take from them what you will. I Would suggest you Re-read the guide, re-check the !Setup again, make sure you change something in it so you will kow if it has saved or not. Re-check the server name and the Ip Yet again, all it takes is one wrong and the server refuses to talk...

Oh I forgot to add, in case your wondering why I have all diff IP's - I run the SQL Server off a Differnet computer...just so you know

k i been looking etc with no luck. so wat im looking for is somthing 2 do with the db server or the actul server exe that has resulted in them stopping talking with the rungate ye ? (just 2 narrow it down abit) as far as i can see there all ok all IP's and all Server name bits r fine followed ur guide word for word and checked my files with ur screenys u posted ty v much there all fine (but i no there must be somthing wrong lol) :cray:
