Specs to run a server and client on 1 PC at same time

What are the specs needed to both run a server and play on it at the same time? Apologies if this is discussed in another thread.

Not really possible as you would get too much lag with only 1 pc

SQL & Serverfiles are memory hungry programs aswell as CPU b4 you then run client on the ssame machine

I still remember Crowsworld running it on 1 PC with 100 people online at once.

You do need some sort of multi cpu (hyperthreading) and tweak the priority right for the apps. (high for mostly everything and low for eiserver)

lol i ran all mine with a few ppl on, i was host we were messing about only got small lag providing i was in game, if i downsized the client the server would crash. The lag would last for no more than 1 sec and would happen every 2-3 minutes lol (was only a few days back see lol)

The specs i have are;

Windows XP Professional (all updates V2002)
Service Pack 1
AMD Anthlon(tm) XP2000+
1.67 GHz
512 DDR RAM
GForce 4 GFX
32-bit Sound Blaster

I think thats all u need... but as the others say its better to have more than 1 pc

in the hole i'm digging
Posting just cus I’m gutted >< .. was gonna get duel 2800 MP and had to spend over half of my cash after HDD problem…

But…with mire3.. your gonna need duel Processor… unlike mir 2… mir 3 kills my 1.8Gz will just running sever (700+mb 333mz)… I think mir 3 runs to many processes (not the correct term ..) to run a sever and client properly, its probably gonna be cheaper to buy two computers lol

But.. you could try duel chips+… even a althon dual upgrade about 320 pound (board+2 chips).. Pentium ><!!!

Basically needed

MP chips or Intell eq. 2800 (2GZ) X2 (for duel processing)
Mem: 800 mb (sever side) + 128 or 256 (xP) client side
Best to to have: 10,000 RPM+ hd ( for V-mem and/or search file)

Can’t explain better (hardware novice)
