Hi, I'm not much on PC's I have;
Intel I7 - 3.4ghz quad core
16gb Ram
2gb Geforce GTX
HDD.
My ping varies from 20-35

Very very rare is it that I see anyone skip on my screen but i often travel through people or people travel through me.

I did some tests with various people running races etc etc,
the results are quite strange.

On my screen we travel at the same speed, no skipping behind for me or skipping forward for them.
On the other persons screen they see me skip behind and see themselves pull forward.

I also find that with curse I turn purple before the amulet reaches my location or starts to display the graphics - not asked anyone else about this if its normal or not.
I also find on my tao that when i SFB mobs i see the damage tick off them before the amulet connects.

on my old pc I used to see people skip all over the place but now that I have what I think is a good pc, they don't skip but instead they just don't seem to be where they are displaying.

Has anyone had a similar problem and is the answer moving to a SSD instead of the HDD?
I have found a pretty cheap one on ebay linked below. do you think that would solve the problem?

I have

AMD A8 5600k processor
8Gb Ram
Nvidia GTX 660 oc
1Tb Hdd

ping of around 30-40

I get 60 Fps solid no matter what situation. Never budges.

Check your messages. I will send you my skype details or some other form of contact and I will talk you through what I did with many games that gave me a huge FPS boost. But I wont be on while around 7pm. If you've sorted this by the time I get home then brilliant. If not ill help as much as I can :)

I was in your exact same situation.. while a SSD will help your games load faster I didnt find that it improved my fps when I used one.

Good luck, Message you soon

The SSD wont improve your FPS - it will only improve loading times. Once you are ingame, the graphics themselves will run from RAM, not your disk drive. So all an increased disk drive will give you is faster loading times. Anyway, isn;t it about time you just admitted youwere gimp, quit, and left me all your phats ?

:P

None of this matters.

What version of windows are you on, and are you running windows Aero or not?

7 and yes.

fps according to fraps is 60-65 at all times. but it just doesn't feel/display like that.

I'm connecting to my tv/monitor via a HDMI cable.
Could the fact that the tv/monitor is around 7 year old make a difference? it is full hd, 60mhz etc

its almost as though my screen isn't displaying whats happening, but its not skipping anything its just delayed in some shape or form.

Thanks joking, ill skype you this evening after i finish work.

Then yes, this is most likely the problem. You're trying to stretch the pixels across a vast amount of screen area. Chronicles, or older Mirs in general don't tend to perform at maximum when stretched (this is why I had to play on windows mode on a 27inch monitor) It may not be the age that's the problem.

If you're 100% certain you're using windows aero with your current specs you should be fine. My recommendation is to try a small monitor and do the same tests with the same people, see if you're even with their speed or faster. Best to try and fix things before spending money on new hardware. If it turns out nothing changes, then we can look into your hardware/mir settings.

Its only a 23inch tv/monitor I'm not sure if its stretched and I have tried window mode but the same results.

providing all you have to do regarding Aero is select aero from the display menu then yes. if there is more to it than that then possibly no.

Sweet, I'll have a look at that.

These are my specs, I run at 60 fps most of the time, should it be 60fps all the time with those specs?

Cheers

Like many other games, not everything stays the same though. my computer would play battlefield on low before I got my graphics card... but would struggle with chronicles.... how dafuq does that work out? haha.

I found that unparking my cpu cores (which your computer will automatically do) has given me the kick that I needed in most games that I play. Cs:Go, Battlefield 4, Chronicles, DayZ to name a few.

Ssd makes a huge difference mate ... I'd advise upgrading

Id love to see your numbers. For me, once ingma,e it made no diff at all. THe only time it has made a noticeable diff is when zoning, zoning is now instant, whereas before it took 0.2-0.5 seconds. Mir tends to run everything from in the RAM - so your HDD has very little to do.

Im abit smoother after apaches help. Thanks mate.
He talked me through turning all of my cores on as 3 of them were asleep. Abd also a smartclean(i think it was called) to close everything that isnt essential from the background.
Havnt been in any pvp yet as im avoiding it with my shite dc atm but it feels smoother so far.

Ill still grab a ssd on payday so long as i dont get wiferupt within hours, apparently we need a new lick of paint in the back room... I just cant see it.
Will report back if it speeds me up much somtime next week.
