i know what it is, i don't want a description

but can anyone tell me why recently it's started to make my CPU run at 100%? i mean it's not like i need it because i never print from my home, so i just replaced it with a dummy spoolsv.exe that is set to read only and that has successfully halted it, but it seems to come back with every windows update, it's not really an issue i'd just like to know why it's making my CPU run at 100% when no other single application does

well if windows update is updatin ur system settings, i duno mayb :S sum one that actully nos summat will av to tell ya

windows update is adding it there because it's a file that handles printers and printing, it's needed and is essentially a good file, it's not a virus or spyware, just my hardware doesn't seem to like it, and again i would like to know why

if its causing conflicts with other hardware oviously its putting something there they dnt like

you mean 'Control Panel > Printer and Faxes' that folder is empty

and spence i asked people who knew something to post, you obviously don't, my PC runs fine when i play games that take up like 150,000 K of mem usage, and my CPU only runs at like 70% then, so how does one file that takes up 4,000 K of mem usage manage to max out my CPU and it goes back down to 10% when i end process it, if it's because my CPU is hot?

having a hot proccessor doesnt make your spoolsv run at 100% cpu, so thats obviously not the case.

oh you said you don't have printer... ok good
goto control panel->administrative tools->services
locate print spooler...
right click->properties...
stop the service and also change the startup to "manual"

cheers, and that'll stop it coming back? even if automatic updates brings it back it won't run yeah?
