by the fourth stage can you start doing what you want?

i hate being forced to do missions. love games that have sandbox mode.

tbh i thought this game wld have everything, but im not that impressed atm.

on 3rd stage atm. and have no idea how to attack whilst being economic.

4th is like the same but bigger i think? I'm not sure really didn't play for long, made a pew pew car then saved and quit.

For the third i just had as many people as possible, and made them all fish at the same time, then attack at the same time, and eat at the same time etc. Didn't take long really.

Is it good?

The creators seem to think it'l be massive with people buying things on it for real life cash. They say its the next step to Sims.

Unsure if to buy it to be honest.

its good. but i expected it to be alot better.

once you get to space stage, all previous stages become useless.

in civilisation stage you can control land/sea/air vehicles, but in space you cant controll anything apart from your own ship which you're constantly in. so that really annoys me.

Yeah i've read alot that people expected it to be a little bit better and it gets a little tedius.

Heard that theres a MASSIVE range of different evolutions though.

Downloaded it and liked it at first, but its starting to get a little boring.

Dont buy it, just download it. Only took me 2 hours off bittorrent.

Didn't buy it myself, went out and got a couple of other things instead.

Liked the sound of it, but read so much that its just not living up to its expectations.

Quote:

With all the vitriol surrounding Spore's digital rights management scheme, it was only a matter of time before lawyers got involved.
Courthouse News Service reports (via Shacknews) that a class action lawsuit has been filed against Electronic Arts in federal court, which alleges the company defrauds its customers by not disclosing the installation of SecuROM copy protection as part of Spore's installation.

Interestingly, while the most vocal complaints regarding Spore's DRM have focused on the ways it limits the use of the game, this lawsuit is concerned with the fact that it exists at all.

"Although consumers are told that the game uses access control and copy protection technology, consumers are not told that this technology is actually an entirely separate, stand-alone program which will download, install and operate on their computers along with the Spore download," the complaint reads (you can read the full PDF document here).

"Consumers are given no control, rights or options over SecuROM," the complaint continues. "The program is uninstallable. Once installed, it becomes a permanent part of the consumer's software portfolio. Even if the consumer uninstalls Spore and entirely deletes it from their computer, SecuROM remains a fixture in their computer unless and until the consumer completely wipes their hard drive through reformatting or replacement of the drive."

Will be interesting to see which way this goes.

every game now uses secuRom. its just a tool which stops people from running copied cd's. thought spore doesnt have secuROM on the cd, instead its downloaded to your pc when you connect to the internet.

dont see whats wrong with it imo, securom is a trusted app, who cares if it cant be uninstalled and has to be downloaded to your pc. microsoft do it all the time with hidden files.

You can play it for ages and not complete the universe mode its massive but everything else is 2 easy and once you get into universe mode you cant be bothered anymore after you have done a few missions.
