- Start date
open the enterprise mgr
find your database for example "lom2"
right click the database
goto "all tasks"
click on "maintenance plan"
you will then see this screen, this is the start of the maintenance wizard - click "next"
you will see 4 options you can choose all the database's or just select the one you want as you see "lom2" is checked
click on = next - next - next
you are now on the backup screen
at the bottom you can change when the backups happen ie: every hour, day, week, month etc
the dates or times where backups happen can be edited by clicking on "change"
when you click "change" you will see this screen it explains it self tbh
set your backup date time etc and click "ok"
click "next"
this window allows you to specify where the backup file is stored click on the "...." and browse for the location of where the backup will be saved , the backup file will have date numbers when it saves for example "lom2backup081220070900" sort of thing lol - so file name - backup - date - time
click on = next - next - next
then click on = "finish" and your done
once this has all been done for it to work you will need to rightclick the sql icon thats running in the task bar and click on sql agent i think its called

nps, thanks for posting this guide that i spent my time making for you as i thaught a step by step guide on how to do it was warranted as its not an easy task to complete on day dies site and not giving me any credit for it, and claiming the guide as your own work, its appreciated that my time goes to good use.
