I got it working fine on my windows 7, i just use the same version that i got on my spare hd that i use for xp, make sure you right click and run as admin also i think if i remember i get an error message during the install saying something about compatability but i just click install anyways, and its worked fine since with no issues.

This is the error i get when i try run the 2nd part of Kazuki guide -
Here http://www.lomcn.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=57446

The error looks like theres a problem with the download.

Try re-downloading fro mthe same place, if that doesn't work, this should work fine... Someone correct me if I'm wrong http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...b5-0b07-4448-8848-dcc397514b41&displaylang=en

By the way, I had lots of problems trying to host 2.3 on WIndows 7 with SQL 2005, got many SQL errors, but works fine with XP and SQL 2000.

You need to disable UAC (Windows user account controls), sql 2005 was made before UAC and so does not support it, it wont let you install anything without you accepting it, and since sql doesnt know what UAC is, you will get that error during install.

Im also running windows 7 on x64.

i think you are trying to create a mir2 database within the master database, dont have sql on this pc, but you need to click further up the tree on the left hand side to create a new db,, not in master
