Yeah, needs to be done in reverse here, which makes more sense anyway, make the higher gear better than the lower....

Anyone who played Euro knew 43 weaps were specials, RARE drops, not dropping like candy as they do here, going off what your saying MIR weaps should have lvl 20 stats.
Truth is, its been Fubar, and if you put some thought into why they were specials, it made sense.

been almost a year since 2.0 was announced. only thing that ever brings me back to mir is the promise of new skills on a decent server (not 1000x exp rate and 5k dc/sc/mc). but im still waiting to see any. Magicbooster doesnt count and neither do all the archer/sin skills.

+1, would think with the number of post on this topic it would be a high priority.. was exciting when it was announced June 2014, should be 3-4 new skills for each class by now, this would keep people interested hunting a playing.

its because the only reply we got was ( we are stopping people from botting gold )

but there is no chance in them resolving this issue this has been going on for years and years on countless games i don't see how they think there any different.

they really need to add content and spells.

TKO came back for a month or two everyone got geared up way to easy... 1 week tops to get decent kit the game is just too easy and content is so old.

maybe when MONK is released we will come back if not before but as for now the game is far to easy.

and the balance issue on here is probz one of the worst iv ever came across.... possibly because of 5 classes but wiz are completely ****ed on here.

sorry edit.....

there is tons and tons of suggestions posted and more or less ignored or pushed aside.... iv posted loads of stuff on suggestions you get a cheeky like from a GM and that's about it...

they need to step there game up and add more people to the server team.

I think the last thing they should be working on is a new class, get the spells and content in game then think about a new class.

I personally don't think there's a balance issue, every class has its benefits and disadvantages but bringing another class into the mix when alot of players still see a balance issue and Sam even agree's that certain changes need to be made to certain classes seems to be a waste of time at the moment.

Like I said get the new content and spells and other issues worked out before you bring another class to bring even more balance / skills issues etc etc

Whilst a new class does technically count as new 'content', i do agree it's odd that monk is being worked on/released before things like all the new spells and items from 2.0. The server team is limited in terms of resources, so it seems even more counter intuitive to be spreading those resources so thinly. Hence why we are where we are now - lots of promised/rumoured stuff/stuff being worked on and half finished but nothing decent/finished.

Imo sort the following first:
- the skills and items that were announced a year ago.
- balance archers (NOT a dps increase but maybe a defence buff)
- tweak wizzards now that we're able to properly see what they're like at higher level
- add the new SW that's been being worked on for god knows how long.

The new class will bring faces from far and wide, definately worth working on the monk imo,
The balance and issues are a never ending battle and will never be perfect.
I think the team have the right idea but execution and time frame are vital to achieve the most beneficial of outcomes,

New class gives you
+new players, +interest existing players, +publicity.

Fixing balance gives you
+x% happines of current players and -x% happines to those who feel hard done by.

New content (needs to be high level content) gives you
+interest level of existing players, %+ drive for lower levels, x amount of returning/new players.

So i would personaly;
Launch monk +100 user count,
2 weeks later (announced at monk launch) release new items (copy paste jobs of current but with defensive stats included e.g reinforced osr AC 0-3, reinforced gpfb amc 0-4. Also making current of that item more common (happy gemming)
2weeks later launch new content where said items are required.

So you gain user count, maintain it with "lazy" but necessary defensive copy paste items, prolong and drive user count with new difficult content.
Ideally level requirement floors as not to alienate everyone,
Floor 1 everyone, drops very very rare, floor 2, 40+ x2drops still super rare, floor 3 45+ x2drops again, still rare. Floor 4 50+ More common, potentially exp boost per floor too, so +1k per mob per floor.
Another "razarus moment" was only going to type monk is a good priority :/

Apart from Monk we are working on new content (Monk is new content)

I have started working on expending some caves and also will start working on newer one.
Sabuk Wall is coming along, still need some coding work
Gauntlet is also coming along nicely

I spent 4 hours last night going through drops and only got about half of it done (adding monk items and spells takes time) while looking over other spells and items.

Raz you just gave me an idea for a few new items so thanks

Do love a good razarus moment!

I think theyre really good ideas however given that the team barely have the resources to release standard new content i cant see them having the time to develop new maps, different tiered mobs per floor and also seperate drop files per floor, all of which will require a lot of balancing to get right, more so than just having one cave with the same mobs on each floor.

I still also believe it doesn't make sense to start working on new stuff before even finishing stuff that was promised a year ago. Finish one job before you start another!

Server has only been open 12 months... Just throwing it out there.

And a large portion of what was announced in 2.0 is already in game. Also worth mentioning that we won't do one big update containing loads of brand new features (which seems to be the expectation), but rather trickle new features in reboot by reboot... I think we have been doing this with the announced content tbh, as it has been coded and tested, it is then made available in our new patch.

I appreciate the server's only been open 12 months but that almost becomes irrelevant when you look at the volume of high level people who have left recently, and i think the feeling is that new places to hunt and new items would perhaps prevent more of that and entice people back.

Most of the spells from 2.0 aren't ingame, and afaik there have been no new items introduced since the announcement. I dont mean to sound negative, just pointing out some facts from a players perspective.

Please edit the thread title to make it related to the topic of the thread, I understand it's a question for the staff but the title has nothing to do with the topic.

Drop rates for the new spells will be adjusted for the next reboot

I do not remember ice trust, plague or hemorr? being announced by a member of the Chronicles team. Have I missed something?

BH

AttunedBody is in... BH is looking over drops to try and find out why none have dropped yet.

IceTrap is in.... BH is looking over drops to try and find out why none have dropped yet.

MagicBooster is in...

TwinFireDrake is pending some testing...

EnergyShield is in....

ThousandSwords is pending some testing...

BackStab (Hemorr) has been recalled due a pretty bad bug as mentioned on other threads, but will be put back in shortly.

Ghost still needs a bit of work tbh, couple of major bugs with it but we are still planing to have it released by 2.0 (currently 1.9.9.5).

FrozenSword is pending some testing...

SlashingBurst is in... BH is looking over drops to try and find out why none have dropped yet.

Plague will not be added to Chronicles.

I hope this was helpful.

Sam

that sounds great but you know mir and its players as well as anyone. if there are not multiple new things to do people will just bash it until there is no bashing left and then leave again. with lots of stuff to do they will be entertained for a longer period.

ok it was less than a year ago but it was a hell of along time ago... more than one half of the life of this server.

i said archer and sin dont count for the new skills because i wanted new skills on the old classes that i enjoy playing. so far warrior (my favourite class) has got 3 new skills from the last time i played mir properly (RZ 1.9) rage and profield (both very very boring, need something that is action packed not an almost passive buff reminiscent of fencing) and TDB. BA doesnt deserve a mention as it is almost useless.

i know i keep saying it but... that video for AceM2 has shitloads of skills in it and they all look to be working. maybe they need some equations for damage but the animation is still there ready to be used. ofcourse some of them have been used on Archer (bouncing SFB - staticshock).

EDIT - crescentslash has suppose to have been ingame (atleast in the drops) since the server launched.
