i got the files and followed the guide from here

but when i go to start server i get

ready to load ini file..
!setup.txt loaded..
loading string resource...
String resource loaded.
Connected to common database.
Connected to SqlDB database.

01:11:39:starttimer exception...

i looked around and found a thread saying to check stditems starts with a 0 which it does. any suggestions would be most welcome.


p.s. using crueldragons exe that was includedwith those files as when i use the eiserver.exe with them i get a kernel32.dll error.

make sure the numbers go in sequence 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and so on if your sure thats right go back to the guide make sure u have set sql up right

its not even reaching your stditems. you have a wrong sql password somewhere in your files. check crueldragon3g.ini, and also make sure you have changed all 4 ips in your sql account.

also try lookin in your !setup.txt and make sure the maps folder is pointing in the right place

also i followed the same guide as the thread starter, but i can see where he incorporates the crueldragon3gbasedata.dat into the servers, could someone please enlighten me as to this?

you must make a db in sql and the odbc the same as the others called crueldragon3gbasedata and restore the file like before.

well the database for cruel dragon data etc is obvious, but where do you link this in to the server exes is my question, there seems to be no place to put it

only job uses .dat, with kingnf and crueldragon you dont have any .dats in your folders, just the tables in sql. if thats what u meant?

Sorry i wasnt too clear in my last post, what i mean is where do you tell the server the name of the DB containing the cruel dragon 3g base data.dat?

E.g In the LoginSvr u give the names of the account and manage DB's

In the DBSvr you give the names of the game3g and account DB's

In !setup.txt u give the name of the hero3g and game3g DB's

Where do u enter the name of the basedata DB?

Any help appreciated

oh sorry. i believe this is the only table which cannot be renamed, its defined in crueldragon3g.exe

OK well i made a DB named crueldragon3gbasedata and an ODBC with the same name but still nothing, think its time to call it a day with this server, if anyone has a working crueldragon3g server set up and is willing to send me their ini files, !setup.txt, information about their DB's then i would be very grateful, cos im obviously missing something big here

sorry, mustve done it wrong first time, creating crueldragon3gbasedata database and an ODBC of the same name DOES work, tyvm Farril and all others

im having the same prob with my server im getting the starttimer exception and the fix listed here to make crueldragond3gbasedata entry in sql and odbc didnt fix problem any help would be helpfull thx
