swapping sims on a iphone 4

so am looking to sell my iphone need the cash it still has a year left on contract but thats fine as i can still use that myself with a different phone. what i need to know is if the buyer buys a new o2 sim for the phone will it still need to be unlocked ?

Then any o2 sim should work, providing it's an iphone sim cos they're smaller.

You can cut sims to fit an iPhone 4, they do come locked usually to 1 network but you can unlock them as long as you have the right baseband.
