Ok,

Some of you may know, I have been passed the Syndicate (Old CYRUS) 2.3 server files, as the guy who was running the server seem to have given up, and Zen no longer wants to host a dead server... which we cannot argue about.

Now, I am unsure how to progress with the server, I need peoples input on what needs changing, or adding to help the server out, and bring back the players.

I am thinking of taking the token system, and items out. The people that have token items, I will look at getting some compensation for these, unsure what yet though.

New areas, bosses and items need adding, might make it more noob friendly to help the new players catch up with the higher levels.

Any ideas?

the files are compleatly dead now, the people who had cyrus befor really did fck it up by changeing everything such as pets etc etc, the files are buggy now due to people changeing stuff.

i agree i think this server/files has seen better days, good luck with it though.

I'm thinking of a wipe.

I know people wont likei t, but the servers a mess, and needs sorting out quite a bit.

I will make it more noob friendly, to help you get back to a decent level easily enough.

Gold will be a little easier to come by, but not that easy it becomes worthless.

Token system will be removed.

Will make it a little easier to get to EM, as it seems to be a little difficult atm with all the mobs (If you dont have a clear/tele).

EM will be harder to kill, and require a group to kill it, and the drops will be looked at.

The Quest areas on the telemap will have different EXP, so that ZT and OMA is not the only levelling place.

ZT will not be scattered all over ZT 7th, and will be in KR only. Drops will be changed, and BP gained from the kill will be upped. I am thinking of adding a sort of Semi boss on ZT 7th 3rd floor.

I also want to look at some of the items, and maybe change/remove some. As theres far too many items for my liking. It makes them all worthless, and peopel just think "No point buying/orbing this, as i get a new set in 2 levels"

The EXP crystals will eb changed to how they was, just double click to get the extra EXP increase, instead of trading them for EXP potions. but I will make them drop a little less (not uber rare though)

Theres a few of my ideas so far.

i think he shud convert his old 1.4 foundation server 2 a 2.3 with updates :P that was a good serv unlike cyrus. cyrus is a pile of ****

If anything simply add to the amount of items by adding 80-90 and 90-100 items and finish the caves that are already inplace by actually having mobs spawn there.

Theres a few of my ideas so far.

Also look into a way to utilise the battlegrounds ingame. Going there is useless bar sending in 50 noobs afk to rack up bps. The 80+bg doesnt even have mobs spawning.

Invasions need to be looked at as the server is lagged 2 fk while one is on and if this did become successful and people managed to get more tokens it could ruin it for people. Just halfing the amount of mobs or changing the actual invasion that happens would probably work.

Sort the Zumataurus quest on the npc as no one has managed to complete it on Cyrus or Syndicate.

Sort the Lover quest.

Also if possible Raise the timings on the boosts you get as you use the 7/8/9 keys soo often that they lockup alot. And inform people via an ingame shout or npc that using @help and clicking any of the options will unlock it.

Sort @help out as all the options dont work but leave one of them and rename to fix boosts or something.

Make Goldbars/chests double clickable.

Take Mir Kit out of the bosses dropfiles bar EM.

Make WarCry as rare as the other new spells and work on DC rather than MC as none have actually dropped on the server bar one in an event. It is as good as the spells the other classes get but not good enough to warrant its current rarity.

Sort out para. Basically any mob that has the ability to para will do so 1/1. The way they got around this on synd was by making the mobs that parad weaker. However it needs to be fixed not covered up as the higher caves with mobs in them that could were impossible unless you had a clear as if they hit you once you had to TT.

Im sure theres more but they are all i can think of off the top of my head.

Wow, you lot make it seem like its hard to make a decent server.
Obviously the people it was given too aren't able to update or listen to what players want or need seeing as its basically failed, i do not know all the facts but in handing the files to someone else it speaks for itself.

The server was something made to give people a new and fresh server to play in a time when hardly any were emerging. It was okay, not amazing. I made it half-heartedly meaning at a certain point the standard just leveled off.

I would completely restructure the server before a release.
Starting level 33 still. Reaching 45 easy. To reach 60 alot more effort. 80 even harder. 80 would be the first rebirth.
Items wouldn't be in sets no more, individual items for each class. Bring back the basic cave structures of mir. Along with a few new additions and greater caves.
But no. I can't, so i won't. No more thinking. :P

NH, the whole bringing back the cave concept of mir, and taking out sets is exactly what I want to do.

Esp the set side of it. I have never been a fan of item sets, rather have singular items. Some rare, but really good items wearable by lower levels, and your decent stat items, but for a decent level.

I personally think the server will need a whole new look. the structure of it is good, just needs some changes to make it fresh.

Since the Battlepoints was somewhat a successful part of the server. Eiter keep this and build of its features or create a new version of this feature.

Either a quest point system whereby you gain points from reaching quests. This would mean a wide selection of quests to do all the time. For example when you hit a new level a new quest becomes open for just that level, if you level past that level you won't be able to attempt that quest again. Day of the week quests. Time of the day quests. A whole quest system to open up the tedious leveling that many servers are about. Certain quests that allowing the resetting of flags from other quests. These quests don't have to be extra long, just kill some monsters or collect X amount of items or deliver an item from 1 npc to another. Of course there can be complex ones, but the rewards would obviously reflect the difficulty of the quest.

Also a Karma points system, which could link in with a 'Heaven/Hell' or a 'Yin/Yang' or even a subclass type of system. Points could be gained through killing specific monsters - although this would be complex as you would need to assign monsters to each side, you know how much worth they have to a subclass or a side. Also the killing of a person on certain maps, for example if your on a special Battle Region map it would be possible to gain points from a kill there.

I would cap curse at level 1.
Also reduce the amount of Slow or PA people can achieve, either by removing the orbs/gems all together or just making them almost as rare as some rare type items.

There are loads of things that could still be done with these files to give the game a new refreshing twist. However those looking to bring up servers don't have the knowledge or the patience to create something worth playing as they're more concerned in rushing or in eventually making money or friends through donations or just giving people benefits. Or like some people do, just for online cred.

Theres alot that could be done with BP, spend BP's to allow you to explore new areas, BP's for items as it already is... hmmmm

I will probably cap Curse, or make it a rareish skill... or both! Orbs them selves will be rarer to get. No fun getting an orb every boss, etc. Make gems used more, make people risk losing an item, and make the added stats items more of an achievement. But slow needs to be sorted.

Special rings will be rare, just as they were in my server Foundation. These are very powerful rings, and deserve to stay rare and worth alot.

just put in fun bosses, alot of them and have it so ur not lvling n getting items in same cave off norm mobs.

servers ok, i wouldnt play if a wipe tho lol, played 2 versions of it now and a 3rd would kill it for me ;P it needs updating alot and things being fixed :P eg: keep PA/SLow as they are just half um... easy to do just check the !Setup.ini cap curse @ lvl1 and add War/Wiz Puri books make cap that @ lvl1 or 2 and make it rare ish

not to try and cause any spam...but i dissagree with this 1...many servers have tried caping curse @lvl 1...but they still leave taos with no base sc...if you cant beat em...join em lol
