Worthing is depressing.
In all seriousness,

Me & iJam can come as a combo team..

What you can expect;

iJam's role - everything
My role - telling you new maps are coming, but they never do.

Let's be clear his server is dying and he wants someone to take over while he does something else , he lost about 20 active users in one day due to his lax attitude towards ingame cash buyers , and complete lack of good content. Such a shame as this had loads of potential but as soon as the level selling started the game started dying ,

Good luck to whoever gets hired , I'm sure you will do a great job

Give it 1 week, Few will go back to chronicles realise they can't catch up / get bored, try archon won't be able to afford to keep up.. Atm a few members of tribal just standing by there mates soon as the salt wears off will all be back. Maybe not GD seen him sell Heaven earlier.. Without doubt Jamie has a big content patch coming

how many players would quit if rewound it a week now tho?

Well technically my characters would no longer exist as i wasn't playing a week ago :) lol.

I'd imagine content is the main issue, i personally haven't had a problem with this server lol.

I wouldn't mind Bon being on the team, he's always had good servers in the past. Although I would hope his chaotic server style wouldn't come across TOO much, i always had problems playing his servers because of the sheer volume of items/spell changes etc.

But definitely a good candidate for adding content for sure (If his asking was a real offer of course lol).

But Jamie, it did very much come across as though you've lost interest again (You did this when the files were in their infancy). If this is the case, could you say so? I don't much like waiting for you to not find someone suitable and then say you're closing because of it. If your hearts not in it, servers generally close soon after lol.

Of course it could just be all the bickering and crying going on that it's coming across that way when put along side it all.

One of the main issues for many of us is that while Jamie has done a good job, the files run great and some of the feature are awesome, he has also missed the mark/sweet spot on a lot of things, and has come across unwilling to listen to feedback.

This started from red cave/yims introduction. The drops/rewards seemed backwards on these caves, to resolve this his idea was to add spell stats to charms, which was still not quite balanced right. Then there was the endgame bosses, requiring bigger groups to get little reward, when farming lower bosses/subs in yims was more efficient/rewarding.

Then was the drop rate change from bosses which was need some item rates seemed ok, then you would get 3 lvl43 weps from the same boss in 1 day. Adding frags was again a good idea, however the rate at 1/1 means theres now several 47+ weps all created from frags only. Not 1 of them have dropped from a boss. Meaning yet again it is more efficient to farm lower bosses than endgame bosses.

Jamie listened to the request for a solo cave, however again his target of lvl 40-50 was well off. And again this boss, in a solo cave, was dropping better than behemoth.

Ghost BDD was a big miss, quite literally in that you can hardly hit mobs and they wreck you. Had the making for a good group cave which was needed, I liked the invisible mechanics, but again the risk/reward ratio made it not really worth hunting except for frags while other bosses were down. The new items from there were a good success and great items to break the usual mold. However recycling of old maps/mobs also made the content stale very quickly, had it been new maps/mobs it may of been hunted more as a change of scenery.

The event orbs, from as soon as it was apparent you could get luck, everyone was saying this should be removed. However it took weeks until Jamie decided to do this. Having sins run around in max luck with no drop was making people not want to play due to being killed in seconds and losing kit with no time to react. Had Jamie listened to this straight away it might of helped.

Everytime new items were added they were just thrown in with the latest cave only, and not refactored in to some other bosses/areas more suitable. Level 53+ item dropping in a cave designed for solo lvlers at lvl 40-50, I do not understand.

Jamies silence on up coming features/plans is also off putting. I hope his next patch is great and addresses some missing content, however I think it may be too little too late. We have been asking for SW for months, people can only grind the same stuff for so long, and when the new stuff doesn't really improve whats on offer it becomes difficult justifying waiting and grinding the same content to see if he will get it right next time.

Some of his features have been a fresh change, some of the boss mechanics have been great but it does feel like he has made a big chunk of money (he has earnt it) but he has already given up.

It's an old game we all love, but sometimes it needs a good shakeup, Jamie looked like he was going to deliver this, but he hasn't quite managed to continue what he started. Archons is offering something new which people are willing to try, If that is not p2w or tweekable then I can't see Tribal returning here unfortunately, if it is **** we may return if Jamie provides some nice new content. We can make items back easily enough.

Wish I had the time :\ I've missed dabbling in the MIR world and never was much a player :) I hope you find someone efficient that isn't just interested in the "fame" or power. Good luck!

Edit: Just spent an hour on your server after a quick download and gotta say: Solid work. It's got a good feel to things. Client is smooth and feels firm, like a well built piece of equipment. Big fan.

Is the opening just to run and add content to the server in its current form, or would you be open to a rebrand in the future? How much creative freedom would there be?

I believe this server is a big step forward in a lot of ways, but it also has design issues and inconsistencies that have been overlooked. An example of this is mob level, there is no seeming relation between the level of a mob and how powerful it is, which has profound implications on balance. A few simple changes to this can streamline new content and balance.

I have a background in web development and can manipulate images fine (just can't make stuff from new).

I have been coding my own c# server on and off the last year (mainly for fun), so i have a very good idea at the limitation on what can be done.

Yes, it's the Random you used to play mir3 with btw :P

No update on this Jamie? Something needs to happen to bring life back into the server!
