Well considering that to gain enough knowledge to be semi good at starcraft you would need to play for around 1 year everyday, all day and even then you probably will not know every build and how to counter every build. So yes I do think knowledge is classed as skill because you need to dedicate a huge amount of time to learn everything. Then you have other things like micro, macro, decision making, and lots of other little tricks you can pull off, there really isn't any other game like it atm. Also I don't think League of legends is a high skill game, and I know lots of people will agree with me on that, its higher then mir for sure but reason why LoL is so popular is because its very casual friendly unlike starcraft + its free to play of course.

you know there's a game called Age of empires xD
have you ever seen pro players there? the battles are alot biggest and the tactical playstyle is very similiar
it also takes alot more action and tactical thought only thing which lacks skill are the battles itself cause the characters move alot more clunky

Age of empires was my very first online game and I played that for many years and yes it does have a high skill cap, but you still cant compare it starcraft, but we just going to have to disagree on that one.

for example soccer and golf
i wont deny they both earn a pretty penny but soccer shurely earns alot more due to sheer popularity
cause if you'd ask me being a pro golfer is alot harder and requires alot more "skill"

OMG you live in Backwards-World :p All I'll say on this matter is I'm more impressed watching the most skillful footballers in the world than I am watching the most skillful golfers in the world.

And yes, the ability to absorb knowledge and the ability to apply that knowledge are both skills.

The ability to is a skill but do you think all those koreans do it by ability? no they aquire it by sheer hard work playing 15/7 365 days a year
that's why i was so denying toward the statement of it being ahigh skill requiring game

There's being wise and being smart
being wise is not a skill in my opinion

It's like you don't know what the word skill means, your just making your own definition and going with it.

Good job.

It is the sad truth. Mir requires no skill. Deal with it... I have never played starcraft but who would want to dedicate that much time learning one game?

it seems you didn't even understand what i said

the ability to pick things up fast or learn fast is a skill but almost all those people lack that skill and just aquire the knowledge through sheer hard work
there's nothing wrong with that thou.

Your point still does not make sense, the fact that the game requires so much "hard work" Is one of the reasons why it has such a high skill cap in the first place. Having more knowledge then someone else makes you more skilled than that player. You're just picking at straws now to try and justify your first post. Also its a bit unfair to say most of the players lack the skill of picking the game up fast where infact the reason they are pro players is because of the exact reason they learn quickly, but the game has so much depth it takes a long time to learn everything

Well i wouldn't want to be mean but if you'd ask me i think if you'd be able to learn good and fast you'd be doing something else for a living

and am just talking back on the guy not justifying my first post but am not going ti deny what i said earlier or is that a crime?

Funniest part of the thread. What you seriously planning to do? You have no idea who anyone else is or how big we all are. Although it might be a pretty safe assumption that every gamer is a twiggy...let's face it, some real time gamers don't help the stupid stereotype lol... But I for one have been a body builder for 3 years and could be significantly bigger than you lol

I'm pretty sure Mr Schlong was being sarcastic...
