About 5 months ago it was said a few chinese guys were doing a dm2 to mir3, and sent out a load of pics on qq

Then like 3 months ago they said they will release one set of the source only (early one) and the rest would be exes

Since then lots of us from lomcn have been waiting

Now they have just setup the forum so things are moving now, slow but moving

depends how easy they are to edit really. its good having open source, but wasn't dm2 files quite a pain to add anything major? (aside from reading new wils etc)

i suppose with open source even if major things dont get implemented (because lets be honest, not many programmers on here play mir3) we will still have the advantage of it not being locked or anything.

if open source were released i dont think we'd have as many people work on the files as with mir2.

looking forward to testing it tho still haven't played with any of the new features.

Ive not had a problem with dm2

But your right m8, i carn't see it being as upto date as the offical mir3, mo so the version of the source they will release,
But it will be fine anyways and a great start

Il be messing with this once its out, even tho iam still hard on my mir2 project

I was thinking this, that is y they are saying CEngine and the iocp, is in the C++ source.

From what i was told they replaced the original old graphics engine that uses D3D to do full hardware acceleration and used dm2 as a base

Dont get me wrong iam not botherd how its been done, at the end of the day its good news all round

Been so long since the mir3 had any good source, and a working one at that

I've already had these for the client source, trouble was the server source. If it is the same source (fixed) the server side was C++

There has always been a Mir3 Client source in delphi, maybe they converted it to read from the dm2 server side.
