I remember how hooked i was on Mir when it was Official.. i wondered if it was because official was prefixed next to the server that kept me interested, but after sifting through numerous private servers, i just cant find the love for it as i did once, when it was "Official"

This thread has been made not to bash the Private servers currently hosted, Im merely venting out my slight frustrations and trying to figure out the key of why i still miss Mir, but cant find a server to replicate my love and addiction for it.

I was never an extremely high level on Mir3. I think i finally made Level 44 on the 1st "Official Mir" (Euro, USA?) then 48/49 on the 2nd. Despite my levels never getting past 50+ it was still a grind. Funnily enough the grind was half the exciting part, almost racing against some other peeps to get the Hades Steel Armor which i could never afford anyway. Still it was fun. What i have seen mostly is the whole Master/Student thing being very prominent in Private servers as well as it being very Group Orientated. I have no strong or Immediate hate towards that way of leveling, but i also enjoyed Solo grinding which seems pretty pointless in most Private servers.

Also it was cool to check out high lvl peeps standing around SafeZone / Comms. Thinking to myself, i could get there 1 day, its not totally unrealistic! I cant say the same for Private though. I'll see near every Warrior that runs past me with a Shamal or Normal Great Blade running around, does anyone remember how ridiculously rare they were on Official Servers? i can almost name the few that had them on the Official (1st). That's another small thing that kills it for me. I remember on official once being so so OBSESSED with getting a Jmace, i camped in BlackPalace for a month, although it never dropped for me i earned a level or 2 and was able to max refine my Gaxe, then sell it on saving up for my beloved Non Zuma J-Mace.

Things like that, kept me playing.. group hunts at WD were always a bonus and exciting. What i have seemed to have concluded is that almost all servers (that Ive played) have had all items (all classes) exposed from the start, it takes the fun out of it for me when you see Rare/High level items so easy to acquire from the very start of the server. By doing that i find you almost make everything but the best items useless and not worth having (besides refining), sure that's the aim i guess, but say goodbye to the comms market, general market where you can barter and haggle your way to goods you've been looking to get for some time.

What i personally think Mir needs

->> Just go back to the absoloute default setting if it can be achieved, set it up so its exactly like how we remember it. Taos in PF/ Wiz PV/ Warr BP
> Mob Names Town names need to stay the same as the Original
> Mobs need to be populous in all areas of the game.
> The top items in the game need to be an absolute bastard to get.
> The standard of weapons/items needs to be brought back to reality (official) deeming other items including low level ones useful to levels that relate
> PK : no change from the Official, you should know your safe zones. You still drop if your red, and Yes we need Penal Island again (must be 1 of the longest serving residents there :D).
> Bring back the Market/Lottery if there is no MageChiChi about

.. I could probably go on if i really thought about it. Again im not bashing anyone, as i would have to include all private servers. I understand some of these things cant be achieved due to limitations but if some server host or looking to be future server admin was ever after any ideas to bring new players in, or old players back, id go with that being my best bet personally. If i knew where to start with Server stuff, i would of already been on it. Im open to give ideas/help with anyone interested in starting something up. Im sure its not just me who would prefer it go back to what it was -.-

Have a good day! Hemperor/sln :)
