Mir3 is great and all...

But the lifespan of the previous 2 mir3 servers was abysmal, I dont think the server will do well, which will just reduce faith in the staff and company.

They should focus on Mir2, which lasted 8 Years with crappy staff. As opposed to the Mir3 server which has changed hands AGAIN (and in a much shorter space of time).

I dont see why ANY single company would release two games as similar as Mir2 and Mir3 to the same populace at the same time, especially since Mir3 has already had 2 very very FAIL attempts.

Double operating costs ..
Halve customer support ..
Target Market is EXACTLY the same...

From the outset this whole Operation looks a bit, well, unplanned ...

Something like:

Kim-Seoul: Hey, Those idiots in europe somehow managed to fail to make substantial profit from their mir2 server and had to bring the server down.

Kim-Jeoung: Well why dont we just copy what those private servers have been doing for years? Run on crap cheap dedi's ,make the game free and see which idiots buy our overpriced virtual items?

Kim-Seoul: Yes ... We'll call it a... a... "Cash Shop" .. how creative, we're gunna be rich ... Long live communism ...

(They have to be communists because they're Korean) :P lol ...

yeah, its changing hands into the company that actually created the game, the company that allowed the game to fall was QGO, which ripped the game of what it originally was, that mir3 we saw was nothing like the korean version nor did it have most of the features or the maps...GN were jus as fail as QGO so i knew that it wouldnt last as soon as they got their hands on it, their just lucky they got passed the DB and everyone didnt have to start from stratch and EVEN THEN their were chars with items that QGO created and left on some of them which further corrupted the game

WEMADE are gonna be hosting it and this is the first time its a global server, korean mir3 has been nothin but a success and i dont think anyone has been playin a game hosted by wemade...guess time will tell how it turns out to be

no no nein nein nein.

The basis of PvP in Mir has always been related to latency.
With people connecting from EVERYWHERE to only 1 location ... a lot of people are gunnaa be left in the Lurch.

Euro servers are hosted in europe for a reason.

europe servers are hosted in europe because of time differences, not because of latency

the difference between 30ms (my UK ping) and 110ms (a US persons ping) is 0.08seconds of delay. is 0.08 seconds a lot to you?

dictionary the word latency for starters.

secondly, mir is one of the only games whereby attacks are made at spaces, as opposed to WoW etc where attacks are made at players in range and thus automatically hit.
maybe 1/10 of a second doesnt sound like much. But its enough to put a real dampner on your mir experience.

And lets not talk about people with 200ms shall we, i've seen it before at the local netcafe? whats 1/4 of a second behind every other player? eh? lol....

Well actually some people on Mir2 are getting a Latency of 180 (At most) and they don't seem to be having any problems at all lol.

You need to bare in mind there is a HUGE difference how latency effects Mir compared to the other big games (Like WoW you mentioned), the latency is basically the transfer rate at which you receive data, if you have 200 MS on Mir, its fine because there is...well, fk all really that is being transferred, whereas 200 MS on WoW could pose a problem as there is much more data to transfer.

So tbh unless you have over 500 MS on Mir, you aint gunna lag tbh lol

oh please you've been playin too much on a wizz, i'm hittin spaces when i shift n click n aim aimlessly hoping the person comes into my line of hittin, NOT when i'm trackin him and hittin him where I see him on MY screen...

a wizz pvping is completely different where as you hit where the person is most likely to go with IS, especially if his faster than you...

again, halo is an exact example of how it is, majority of the servers are hosted in US and i can even play wirelessly and still compete perfectly, stop makin this out to be such an issue when it isnt...

nethertheless i've also heard their gonna be hosted in Germany, so thats even better news and besides, imagine if they add a cap like they have on mir2...then all this talk about ping n b/s will be obsolete

lol.

Halo is a game where you can shoot 30 bullets in about 2 seconds
Mir is a game where 1 Cast takes about 2seconds
Plus a bullet in Halo travels about 200x faster than a player can move.
In Mir your cast takes 2 seconds, to run to another space takes 0.9 seconds.

In other words movement is much faster than attacking, which is why Mir is one of the only games where running away from another player is relatively easy.

All their doing right now is letting people play without the server regularly confirming peoples position so they dont get 2 step lag.

Only that solution comes with the penalty of "bounce back", the most complained about bug there is, only its not a bug its the server correcting the position your in because the client and the server arent in sync (whats doing that again, oh yes, latency ).

Lag is the time LOST between the communication of the client and server.
Now I havent done Physics in 5 Years, but im pretty sure theyre is no way to get time BACK. Not with any software, any special way they code it. Nothing.

European servers are hosted in europe for a reason -.-' , To say it makes more sense for european players to connect to America or Kenya or Australia, is retarded, and we all know it.

lol...

Halo is a game where the average life of a player is around, 10-12 seconds if your lucky
now i dunno about you but it can usaully take up to MINUTES where somebody dies in mir, depending on the situation and circumstances, whereas in halo...1on1 means alot because you encounter it alot more

0.08seconds to connect to a server in the US is ALOT to a game like halo where the average life of your char is around 10-12, now i've done physics and lemme tell u that the percentage uncertainity within a lower life-faster paced game like halo is alot bigger therefor that 0.08seconds is a big issue

however in mir, as you said the cast time is alot bigger and the way players move are alot different, its very unlikely your going to die from a wizzies (seeing as you said his casting a spell) to kill you within 1 spell, weither your usin tempest icestorm tbolt or MS, it doesnt matter cause it just wont happen. now you can get hit a few times in mir and bounce right back up, however in a game like halo you cant, and therefor the little delays that you get could, possibly add up since the uncertainity is relatively high

Now i've played halo for quite a while and i'm livin here in the uk...sometimes i play it wirelessly and i'm tellin you that the 0.08seconds doesnt effect me...i can compete just aswell as any american thats playin in the US...now what dont you get when im sayin that 0.08seconds or whatever in a game like mir wont matter? sure it might matter a tad but nothing as much as your makin it out to be

"Cash shop" or item mall as many other mmos call it and games that use it do make alot like Perfect World for one, they have many servers and many players. I dont really think its an issue like your making out there with your dumb script...
Weve never had a Wemade controlled Mir 3 before so to slam them before they have started is ignorant, if you knew what you were talking about then you would know that Wemade have a had a massive player base in Asia for many years which tells me and should tell you they offer a good service.. If your gonner stay in mir2 then gtfo talking about mir 3 i could easly go flame mir2 because i personally dont like it but that would be dumb and a waste of time wouldnt it...

If you don't want to play the Mir3 server when its out, the STFU cause we don't want to hear it.

This game is now being operated by Wemade - You do know who wemade is don't you.

QGO, who was the original operater of Mir3 Europe screwed up, they screwed up the moment they started to take on a second game with a higher user count and poularity. Though didn't do them much good though, as they where in liquidation within 3 month of taking on the new game. Yes I know QGO did change company names for a while and this is the point that I'm making with going into liquidation.

Now some history in 'European MMO gaming' - Europe has always been about 6 month behind updates and fixes for servers compared to Aisa - However this changes when licenses are broken, this is what happened with Mir2 - Wemade changed the license agreement, from P2P to FTP - The license holders of Mir2 didn't want this and subsquently lost there license for the game. Also depending the type of running license you have from the company themselves, is also dependent on what updates are given (If any are to be given).

Ok now some information on 'DSL/ADSL/CABLE/SERVERS/CONNECTION'

Yep thats it, you know why. Anyone with half a brain would understand that it doesn't matter where the servers are located, wether it be in England or Japan. There is a thing called 'Contention Ratio', this effects everyone in the world who has a internet connection.

Wether or not Mir3 has been a succesfull game in the past, it had it's updates in the time it was running and the files wern't screwed up ether by some medaling person trying to make the game theres.

Mir2 hadn't any updates for a hell of a long time and most of the people who played it in it's dying days, did so on the previso that updates where coming and that the 4th class was due - Look where that is now, under a new company running it.

I would sugest in future, before you spout of about this that and the other when playing games. You read up and learn certain information before you spout your crap - I'm on a 50MB cable line and my FPS goes up and down dependent on the game I play and the time of day I play it. Oh and lagg by the way has nothing to do with the server end at all, it's your connection to the server and the route it takes. Hence why when you have connection problems to a server they ask for a tracert from you first. But then again you would know that being a gamer.

Thats my rant and you know what I cna't wait for Mir3 to be released and especially by wemade themselves, only time will tell if it's a flop or not and this will be the same with Mir2 as well.

If mir2 is anything like it is now, then i will be moving here, is this actually being ran by wemade? if so then thats a perfect reason to join, they are the creators of the game, they know everything about it. Always preferred MIR3 but mir2 has the users :( shame.

Mir3 has always had an ok usercount apart from at the very end when both USA/EU were close to closing.

Mir3 has a very different community to Mir2.

The amount of times on mir2 ive come across some random high level and he's killed me and gone ''HAHAHHA ROFL U GOT PWNT 1HIT HAHAHAH NOOOOOOOOOB'' is unbelievable lol. Whereas mir3 i've played for many many years and not once come across this unless its been pure sarcasm lol.

OnTopic - I have a crap connection and probably one of the worst pc's you can buy nowadays and i rarely lag. I've PvP'd people with pc's 3x as good as mine and they lose. I've personally found geek pcs to be rather poor to run a game such as Mir3. My m8 has a pc with top of the range specs and he always complains about lag lol. Yet theres me with my 256mg ram and im zoom zoom compared to him lol =/
