Do you need it to have DVD-RAM capabilities? The Pioneer drives are very solid and take a serious beating (Not physicial just incase you have plans :P).
Mailny all i was is DVDs that will lay in PS2, and to copy music cds.

Samsung is ****ty, as well as discs only support 16x. Some of them you can burn faster than their max rated speed but they normaly fail.
I'd just get a nec drive for cheap, but it looks like you've found a pioneer for the same price or cheaper. When it comes down to it just pick one of the cheapest drives as long as it has the rated speed and comes from a good company.
