no-one here is accusing you of not doing a good job.. it's just that you can't pretend to code and update the server's content by yourself in your spare time..
It's a little too late to do a wipe, people would probably come find us irl to pk us.

I never played USA, I only played Euro so i have no idea how the Hell/ancient caves work, it's something we could look at adding i suppose... The maps should be available to us, however I'm not sure if the mobs and mob attacks are in these files, so that would be more work for Sam to code in, but he's busy looking at current bugs.

I guess you could say I was still "part" of the team, I've always been around to help out Sam, I'm just not a GM or have access to the files to try and stop people moaning that I have a normal char :P and still help people out in game from time to time.

Lol, check out that site, get a ruff idea of the new maps etc, some nice maps that can be made into some awsome levelling grounds.

we know ur busy irl working come home and code this all in ur spare time which not only me and many others are gratfull for, and we know ur tryin to fix the bugs that are already ingame but can we get an ETA of more content, not necessarily archers and sins but more of the maps thats weve come accustomed too, BAtttleGround AncientRuins RedCave HellCave Troll Cave Turtles. do u have all of these files ready to add or is it something u need 2 make up urself?..

current content is gettin slightly boring now and i think thats why alot of ppl are seein aslight negative decline in numbers online. i can vouch for this because TheFirm now most days has bout 5 active players lol

Considering the amount of maps + monster skins we have, it makes very little sense to me to just reuse maps and or mob skins and give them new names.

My current schedule of work looks a bit like (This is not in order entirely... New mobs are at the bottom of my ordered list though):
- Quest System (70%)
- Assassin (60%)
- TrustMerchant (0%)
- Revisit current broken Monster AI's (Most of the AI's are fine, there are a couple that are broken but not badly).
- Potentially adding new Monster AI's...

All of which are put on the back burner as and when bugs are found.

My main focus for the last 3/4 days has been the quest system, I was under the impression we had a usable system in place, it turns out we didn't so I am in the middle of coding it near enough complete from scratch.

Yes, but when you making a broth using only the main ingredient and leave the rest of ingredients out, would it be tasty ?
When the ingredient is going to poison said person(s) and leaves a crappy taste in your mouth, then yes keep that **** out.

Thought you was saying last week about trying to get a temporary TM system In too? I'd say scrap the New class for now as this isn't that big of a deal, concentrate on new content to keep the player base you have already occupied.

also quests, and no disrespect but if there not gna be say for 44+ then it's a waste of time, there's no point in making aload of quests for say 0-44 as it's easy enough to just grind to that level, and I carnt see 100+ od new players starting for these quests to have any benefit, the average player now is lv44ish so not really any point using all your spare time doing stuff that's going to benefit the od new starter when there's over 120 odd active 44+ standing in sz bord.

Yeah that should be on the list also... Was only a rough list from memory there is loads missing :P...

That list was not in order either... I need to finish quest of and get a couple of sample quests in so people can test before moving onto something else though.

Yes true there is not going to a record amount of new players to join the server so putting all effort into new content should be priority maybe Sam can make a poll to see what majority wants like new content or quests or new classes

-ppl that like pk that enjoy the main ingredient the most
-pvpers for bosses and in town same as above
-ppl who enjoy pve and enjoy building a kit for it
-the occasional player that fits in one of above category
-and more I cba thinking of right now

Now Samuel, everyone knows and don't deny that you are an awesome coder but you are by far a "jack'of'all'trades". When people are casting their opinion here they will mostly do it with their own personal interests in mind. You have to reason through everything and see what is best for everyone not only half of the server community.

this was meant to be a test server and even if content is old there will still be testers willing to debug.

priority should go 100% in getting the server files done.. we have lot of server files around and not even one has all the bugs taken out..

and i don't mean that you can remove all bugs from such a big project but at least all the important ones should be cleared

quest is a missing feature and surely must be done before content

So your asking him to drop everything including the 200+ usercount to work on the files and release them so every1 else can start making there own sever?

This is very much my opinion when it comes to quests...

I am trying to a do a balance between what the server needs and what the files need... There is every intent of doing a release of the files (mainly because it would be awesome to see some AM2 servers up and I think the community as a whole will increase and gain from them)... However at the moment with missing features such as Quest and TM the files do not compete with the likes of Ruby etc, which therefore makes them a priority for a release. It is also worth adding that although there is every intent of releasing files, the server does still take priority.

In terms of mob AI's we already have above and beyond what most other server files already offer.

this isn't a food chain, the people who leave the server due to the removal of boundstones, has no effect on the game for myself and many others, mainly its only going to effect their own guild which will eventually disband and join other guilds anyway, and make other guilds stronger.

if you want me to feed into your reply of the food chain, when something in a food chain dies, it doesn't resurrect within 5 seconds after its death. comparing mir to a food chain is a ridiculous concept.

unfortunately people understood this server was meant to be the best and only server.. which should have replaced euro and usa server all together.. it has never been said.

instead there were ideas of a proper server coming up based on am2server.. it was published in the server adv page.

i know what you mean.. everyone is afraid that if this server fails there will be nothing left.. this has happened i think about 50 times from when i follow the forum and still we get 100+ usercounts on servers which are worth playing.

at the end of the game, if the acem2 server files will be released.. then there will always be a server with that usercount as long as it is really worth it.

if instead we really want to make something great then we should consider making a community server where we get a BIG team of people who actually know what they are doing with the server files and have polls going all days in the forums to have user feedback and follow user trends. this is the only road i can see, which can allow the mir community to grow back again.

For those asking for things from USA Mir: Keep in mind that it was an official server so they had the database/files for monsters/maps/drops/etc. There has never been a leak with that content so building any of it is by scratch.

We have the graphics but thats about all from USA Mir. Official server side content is very dated.
Any newer content is built now by Sam so I'm sure its time consuming.
