Hope Sam feels better soon. He never posted much on forum anyway, just sometimes and I didnt really expect him to post on this thread.
It would be real good to have people helping keep this going, it is by far the best as far as I can see.

I do hope this server see's more content. I don't think it would be hard to make features that would keep people entertained a bit more. For example:

I remember ages ago there was an upgrade npc in a server called starlite hosted by lifco, although this NPC was relatively cheap and easy to upgrade with, it had something like a 50% success rate, meaning many items were destroyed, keeping the server from being flooded with rares, but also giving people opportunity to mess around trying to upgrade common items into items of worth. One of the most entertaining NPC's I've ever encountered.

The Arena maps that were featured in early euro mir. Divided by level restrictions, the arena maps were small maps that were dense with mobs, with a regular respawn rate, every 30 minutes or so spawning a boss. These maps were great fun to hunt, encouraged good team fights and offered a real challenge for people.

Simple but easy ideas.

This server had lots players and a server team of 5 ish I think. Seems they cant agree on anything and so they all went off to do it their own way so it's now just sam.
Shame because it is the best I have seen. Wish they would all get together and work for one server like this one. Maybe if they all have different idea about how the game should be and what the content is now that the basic game is stable perhaps all the other ideas could be run as events or limited time content so all the other clever coders with good ideas can try them out on a proven server instead of having to deal with bugs from the beginning every time.
I still think geek racing to be highest, out levelling the content then complaining that there's nothing to do is the major factor.

No surprise here, Sam can and is stubborn. When working with any human beings and having any sort of relationship with those people is expected you let some go from you and the others do same thing. It's clear what case we got here.

stillllllllll crying about boundstones?

your so clueless, sam had very little say in any content that was added, he mainly focused on coding till the rest of the team got bored and left the team leaving the server in his hands to do both jobs, now he has complete control and final say. (he has already stated this)

just cause you didn't get your own way about bound stones you condemned the whole server, rather childish.

An active server population nearing 100 taken at a random time during the day is not bad at all for a private server. It means there are likely 100's of players if you were to take into account who is active during the entire day.

Some high profile or hardcore players leaving may make alot of noise but is a very bad metric for the amount of people coming and going.

ive played since it started and in the past month or so have never seen more than 3-4 people in towns.

The server is dead, just looks lively because of stores.

Lowrates always die though.

nothing to do with rate

I also agree with this, recently low rate servers have attracted a lot more attention than shitty highrates with no prospects or ideas!
point proven by this server being the first lowrate to attract the user count it did in early days, i remember joining 3 weeks into beta and there being 250+ people online and back then there was only bw for stalls and really wasnt that many 20 stalls max.. goes to show the server DID have the player count and potential to be something spectacular but lets face it, we all know it isnt looking too great at the moment.

You've met Sam? You know this? Just making personal remarks?
Far as I can see the ones that couldnt cope with the negative feedback and nagging and demands for instant responses and instant fixes are the ones that went away. Sam appears to have the patience of a saint.

agree, but it is to do with all the overpowered easy mining easy gemming easy slotted item too high drop rates in the early weeks. Plus the unreported exploited bugs.
IF its too easy the geeks geek/bike/pay to be highest levels.
Then because they are overpowered they get very vocal when adjustments are made to stop things being so easy but by that time they've out levelled the content and leave.
.................................................
Saying again, why do servers go up without a plan of patches and new content. Each server goes up with lots of bugs so months sorting the bugs before they can pay attention to new content but by then everyones levelled past 40 and are fed up with same old.
Please people get together with a PLAN. Stop making the game too easy at the start and lets have a community server we can play and all you talented people can add patches/maps/ideas as events to see if they work then add permanently if it goes well.

I can't believe I am taking the time to respond to this, but once again you are talking rubbish. You seem to be jealous of the fact that other people like WG have been successful on Ace M2 because they have put in time and effort and you simply can't be bothered. Just for that, instantly everyone who plays a lot is a "geek", thus implying that you are too cool and don't have the time to waste on levelling in such a manner or to dedicate to your character.

AND YET you ask for server creators to create servers with a long term plan, not to start a server with bugs, as if they have all the time in the world to create such a think just for you. According to you that would make them a "geek" too, right? Wrong - you should be grateful that you have a private server to play, bugs, flaws and all, grateful that someone is willing to take the time to provide you with entertainment. You're the sort of pseudo-contructive-but-secretly-whinging person that brings down private servers.

I also want a good private server to play, and this is the best server to come out in recent years hands down. But I am not going to cry that others are more committed to their character, or that they had it easier than me, or they got their items through exploiting, why the **** would I? I just want to genuinely enjoy this ****ing awesome game flaws and all.

Please log out, get a blanket, turn on the TV and have a nice hot cup of shut the **** up.

You arent playing V2 anyway you said.
I am very grateful that people do develop files and new maps and keep mir alive. I expect bugs and flaws.
I want players to tell the team about whats not right. What's so awful about that.
I like the humour in most of your posts
What exactly did I say that you disagree with?
The things I mentioned that didnt help the server were all changed. Easy multiple mining, gemming, the too many added stats/runes. I wasn't even the one asking for those changes. I saw other people report them on this forum.
I put it all together in one post in an attempt to defend Sam from personal remarks.
You are right I shouldnt have bothered. He seems well able to do it himself

Server peaked at about 210 active users with 140ish stalls towards the end it had a steady 70 odd active players...
