Trying to connect to a server but cant.. wierder than it sounds

Ok was playing starlite, every thing was going perfect, one night i networked my pc to my lap top, had problems with net, any way next day i try to connect to starlite it does not even bring me to enter user pass, have turned modem off for 10 mins etc,

we are both on 10mb cable with ntl and he thinks its a problem as ntl does not like ntl, but why cant i connect he is unsure and his router is not blocking any ips

any idea on how i can connect?
can still connect to ragezone p69 etc but just not starlite and it is up before you ask lol

possibly ntl m8 i used to have probs liek this now and again id be able to connect to then all off a sudden id not be able to for like a day the only think i could put it down to was the hops between me and where the servers located try the following:

click start>run and type "cmd" no ""'s then click ok

in the dos promt window type the following:

Tracert ipaddresshere

then press enter

if u watch it and they all connect fine with a nice ping (ms) then ur conenction to serv is perfect and its sumthing to do with ur side
if one or 2 seem to go high (ms) liek 130+ or sumthing its prob that

it used to happen to me with a few sers tha was far away from me and i get bad connection half way through.

if this dont help you could try reinstalling ur network adapters maybe u got ipconflicts off sumsort......

1 through to 10 was 7-9 ms then try 10 forward have timed out :/

thas ur prob one off the hops between u and the serv is prob down

(think off hops as the S***** ntl green boxes)

keep trying tha inabout an hours time ull find it go bk up unless its a major problem then it could be down for a few days

more than likely maintanace on it
