My friends dad caught a 800lb Tuna when he was in the Royal Marines, and I've caught a 124lb Tuna, but it was only a tiny baby. My 124lb Tuna took about 1 hour to reel in, it was that strong!

It's true mate, If you've done fishing before you'd know that most fish give a big fight, then give up.
Obviously, if you're fishing for Tuna, you're going to need a special sea fishing rod, but you can pick them up for around £200, and they can hold up to 1000lb's. Then you've got the shock absorber(sp) line, which can take a fish upto 300lb if you get the best one going, and then the reel.
I'll try find you a picture of the current record.

:| That is one big ass fish. I just though 1,150lbs would be a bit big, like...I dunno, non fishlike. Didn't know Tuna grew that big. Imagine the size of the steak from that...
Aye I know what you mean, it is a bit wacky. Although, saying that... Tiger sharks can grow upto 1700lb's! They're still a type of fish.
