Two vital errors

I have been experience this for a long time now. When i switch my computer on it loads up my screansaver but not the toolbar. It doesn't do it at its own time because i left it on for 24 hours to see if it was running slow, but it just didn't load up. I have to run bit torrent through task manager and right click a program i downloaded, then click open containing folder to load the toolbar up. Any ideas on how to fix this, so it will boot up with the pc?

Second of all, i can't run any programs with my pc. It loads the egg timer but then stops and doesn't load up. Has done this for a while also. I can't access any of my control panels either. Any ideas on how to fix this?

take a screen of ur task manager, so we can see the programs running (all of them if possable)

does it show u the clock in the bottom corner at all?? what does it say when u try to run task manager??

Sounds like a virus corrupting explorer.

You'll probably find that if you run (windows button + r if you don't have your taskbar) and type explorer.exe it'll come back, but something is disrupting it at startup.

You've got a few options, the easiest being a re-format if you don't have much to lose.

Failing that open up run (windows + r), or use the 'new task' button on task manager and type msconfig, look at the startup tab and remove anything that's not a system process, same for services tab. Reboot and see if that fixes it.

Your other option is to try and use anti virus/spyware software, but chances are its pretty buried in and is probably stopping you from opening applications so you can’t fight it.
