im totaly confused about this internet thing

why is the upstream so slow? if the downstream so fast?

Generally, you require much higher downstream speeds (to download web pages or files) than for sending email or requesting web pages upstream. When the downstream and upstream speeds are different, that is called Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) technology.

In simple terms, Its just simply that the different technogies in each differnt way e.g 56k, broadband, dsl, adsl...

56k
With Version v.90 the ipstream is not as good as with the v.91 even tho download speeds are both the same which is the peak performance supposedly of 56k. Just as new technologies pass new encryption all accounts.
Is it 1meg broadband you have?

And basically it says that you usually require higher download speeds to download files and information, than you need to send data to other sources.
