it wouldn't. VGA is an analogue signal, HDMI is pure digital.

If you're at a small screen size then you don't normally notice the difference in quality, but larger screens with fast moving images you want a digital input.

this is basic stuff tai :P

have you got your resolution set to the monitors native? what resolution is it?

There should be absolutely no reason VGA should give you a better picture quality over HDMI

My experience is that some TV's do not interpret the HDMI signal correctly resulting in weird artifacting like faintly colored lines in the image. Texts can be hard to read. No amount of adjusting to the underscan, overscan and other options available removed this problem completely with my TV.

I think that some monitors, though they say "HD Ready".. are just not up to the job.

EDIT: I read on some articles that the Audio can mess up the definition of HDMI. Using DVI to HDMI will cut out the audio but show a better qaulity of image.

Again , this was searched threw google. Good luck Tai.

Similar to VGA (in socket) but the connector is larger, has a horizontal line in the pins and should be black/white instead of blue.

Turns out your GPU has both DVI and VGA, wow!

Use DVI if possible, HDMI can be very... edgy shall we say at times.
