The problem is that your with Virgin Media.

I don't have the problem, as I don't actually use pikey's internet, but I know people who have the same problems. Contact the gypo's @ VM, hurry.

My Virgin net sometimes drops from 20mb to 2mb down and my upload from 800kb/s drops to as low as 4kb/s, its a fking joke in all honesty i have complained so many times i`ve lost count. I`ll defo me changeing my ISP once i move home.

Transporter normally the reason being for that is because you've downloaded a stupid amount so it's capped. There allowed to do that :).

The internet around mine has had a few glitches, a.k.a randomly d.c'ing from msn, WoW for about a minute or two thats about it. But in a kinder way of what the idiot elohel said, i'd contact them and see what they can do.

It could indeed be glitches there side.

Yea i know fair useage policy, but thats not the prob as i dont download alot at all, they have sent me new modems and everything and the problem still isn`t sorted although it has improved. I have had alot of credit of them plus a really good deal on my connection for 12 month so it`s not all bad i suppose.

I had lots of problems with VM, i requested a new modem, as i had the same one for about 6 years since we was with Telewest, and it sorted all my problems.

Your a tit been with Blueyonder for 8+ years now only had to call them 4 times about problems, and they was sorted straight away, there alot more stable and provide a much better connection than other companys.

I think VM/BY is probs the best out of the less specialised companies like, i cant say i havnt had any problems and there technicians were i live are mostly cowboys but when i was with BT it was alot worse.

I lol'd at that forums about the cables being cut, talk about conspiracy theories lol

Between the hours of 4pm and 12am you are capped from a 20MB line to a 2MB line.

This is standard right across all of VM and is also part of the contract that you agree to when taking up the 20MB line.

What I would also sugest as well though, is checking which modem they have supplied you. As the older ones are not firmware written to handle the speeds and can periodicully cut these in half.

As for the 50MB line being rolled out from January 9th in 4 major citys, this is fully supported by VM. As anything that they offer you as a service, also has to have the support for it as well.

Don't expect anything to great though from the 50mb, as you will find that for the first 3 years its not what you are getting as the backbone is not good enough to handle the 50mb from their DC's.

There running 50mb tests now and its not that much noticably faster tbh get about 800kb/sec extra on downloads but with 20mb u get about 1.5mb/2mbsec ne way so nothing supurb atm.
