hello need a bit of info.
had t send my laptop of bk t hp as harddrive fuked up got it bk yest.
started t put things back on it and then got a big virus get a blue screen every few minz now so aint got time to download a virus protecter or anything as bluescreen comes up t fast and logs laptop of.
it wnt let me use the f11 key t put it back to factory settings or do a system restore point. i rang up hp tday there sending out a recovery disc sould get it tomorrow. but i was just wondering whats a really gd virus protecter and anti virus i dnt really like avg and dnt trust torrent sites.

If your machine is BSOD, this is not caused by a virus.

The best thing you can do is load into safe mode and disable auto restart, this will then allow the BSOD to come through and give you the error for what the problem is.

Doing a recovery on the machine, does not always resolve these issue and you really need to know what the fault is.

The error once you have disabled auto restart will start 0x0 and thats what you require to find the fault.

Most likely hardware failure. If you don't already know how to disable auto restarting, for XP, goto Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery Settings > uncheck ''Automatically restart''
