Well, I have an "NVidia GeForce6600 GT" and mine runs most games like a dream.

Can get hold of em for around 100-130 quid

Sorry, PCI - express please.

Running a crappy Radeon x300 at the moment and as you can imagine it cant handle oblivion.

Im thinking: BFG GeForce 7800 GT OC 256MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/7800__Series.html#agx_2d070_2dxf)

With: Corsair 2GB DDR XMS4000PT TwinX (2x1GB) CAS3 (MY-094-CS) (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Corsair_XMS.html)

You want:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/X1800_Series.html

Connect3D ATI Radeon X1800 XT 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-044-CO)

And

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/G_Skill.html

G.Skill 2GB DDR HZ PC4000 (2x1GB) CAS3 Dual Channel Kit (F1-4000USU2-2GBHZ) (MY-008-GS)

Isn't the x1900XTX better than the one you reccomended? and just a tad bit more expensive?

For the price ATI>nvidia in terms of performance by A LOT.

And, no current nvidia products (even the 7900's) can do AA + HDR at the same time, while ATI's X1000's can.

I'd sacrifice HDR (which, by the way... is "wow" the first time you see it, then after you frankly couldn't give two ****s what glows and what doesn't) for FPS any day of the week.

I switch off my HDR on the new css maps to have AA, no biggie, more FPS without being blinded by the sun’s reflection. I’ll drink to that.

Don’t be put off by it Stone, it's really not that bigger deal.

inc VAT its hard to come across a decent 1900 for less than £300 (which is more than i was willing to pay)

Been reading up on the 1800 and its had good reviews so i have ordered that along with the ram, but from what i have read oblivion might cause a CPU bottle neck so people arent getting the best performance anyway, its gonna be a damn site better than what it is now tho.

T'was a good choice over the one you posted, never the less I fear another has gone to the dark side.

You will get one DVI to VGA Adaptor with the card

Unless your using a dual CRT setup, you won't need it
