ive not got enough money to upgrade everything, but i want to slowly get my pc up to the highest specs. it runs everything fine atm, not even slow. but id like to upgrade something anyhow.

current specs.

gfx - radeon 9600 series
processor - amd sempron 2600+ (2ghz)
ram - 512mb sdr
hd - 120gb

what do you think i should upgrade?

i dont want to upgrade and then have to buy another upgrade for it in a few months time. i wont bring money in to it atm till i find out how much its gonna cost.

as an extra question. is it possible to increase the multiplier on the cpu or is that locked?

I'd say motherboard / processor / ram first, then graphics card, the HD isnt too important right now.

Whats your budget?

Nope., and for 180 you can't even just get the best processor =p.

I've got to admit though, A64 3000+ venices are really nice for overclocking. Mine runs at 2,6ghz (800mhz overclock) and is about 45C at full load.

Anything less than about 220 pounds will just get you the same setup with a faster single core processor.

If you spent 180, I could get you the setup I stated + a 6600GT videocard and the 180 would still have enough to buy a better CPU cooler and you could easily overclock your processor.

So what your saying urban is you could setup a AMD64 3000, Motherboard, 1gb of ram, cooling for cpu o/c and a 6600GT for roughly 200?
